Put the cologne on in the morning and in the evening the fragrance has already faded? Fortunately, there is a remedy for the problem! By choosing good quality products with the right habits, you can create a distinctive scent that lasts all day by showing others that you care about smelling good. Follow the steps in the article to learn how to make the colony last longer.
Steps
Step 1. Choose heavier scents
Perfumes and colognes can have fragrances that vary from light as a feather to suffocating to the point of overwhelming the whole room. For your purpose, opt for stronger fragrances, however, you will need to be careful about the type of fragrances you choose. Go for musky scents but not too pungent - otherwise you will drive everyone away! Make sure that the scent is pleasant for everyone and not just for you by asking the opinion of friends and family.
Step 2. Apply cologne before dressing
Not only can cologne damage clothing, it is also much more effective when applied in contact with the skin. The warmer your skin, the more cologne will be absorbed instead of evaporating, so apply it immediately after a hot shower or after doing some morning exercises. It is also advisable to apply it on the pulsation points of the neck, arms and wrists to emphasize the scent.
Step 3. Take into account the weather conditions and the season
As you may have already understood, the warmer the time the less cologne you will have to apply to create a strong effect. It is very easy for the scent to become stuffy in hot weather, particularly if you are in a crowded place. However, the heat can also cause the scent to evaporate faster, so you may want to take the cologne bottle with you if you need to put it back.
Step 4. Overlay the fragrances
You don't have to use just one fragrance with cologne. Look for different fragrances that match each other and start overlapping them! This way, you will increase the potency of the cologne without making any fragrance too overwhelming. Furthermore, as each layer begins to disperse throughout the day, a new one will emerge. In this way, the perfume will be multi-faceted and more interesting, even if only on a subconscious level.
Step 5. Preserve the colony properly
Exposure to atmospheric agents is the worst thing that can happen to the colony. Store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging for extra protection. Do not leave it in the bathroom, not even in the cabinet or drawer, as the steam from the shower can still harm the chemical components of the product. Instead, keep it in the closet or in a box under the bed. If the area you live in is hot and humid, you can also put it in the refrigerator. The better you keep the colony, the longer it will last!
Advice
- Make sure your skin is fresh and clean before applying the cologne.
- Apply an unscented moisturizer or petroleum jelly if you don't want the cologne to come into direct contact with the skin.
- Use soaps, shampoos, and essential oils of the same (or complementary) scent as the cologne to accentuate it.
