Do you want to write down your password so that no one can see it or maybe you want to send someone a secret message? Knowing how to write a message in invisible ink will give you the feeling of being a secret agent.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Writing an Invisible Message with Lemon Juice
Step 1. Squeeze half a lemon into a bowl
Step 2. Add a few drops of water
Mix the lemon juice and water with a spoon.
Step 3. Dip the tip of a cotton swab into the lemon juice and water mixture and write a message on a white sheet of paper
If you prefer, you can write the message with a quill pen, toothpick, brush or fountain pen.
Step 4. Let the invisible ink dry
As the ink dries, the message will disappear.
Step 5. Hold the sheet of paper with the message above a light bulb, flame or candle
Hold the paper near the light bulb or flame until the message reappears. Be careful not to get it too close to the flame if you're using a candle, lighter, or stove.
Method 2 of 5: Writing an Invisible Message with Baking Soda
Step 1. Dip the tip of a cotton swab into a solution prepared with 50ml of water and 50g of baking soda
Use the cotton swab to write a message on a white sheet of paper.
Step 2. Wait for the ink to dry
Step 3. Dip the bristles of a brush in concentrated grape juice or any dark colored fruit juice
Pass the juice where you wrote the message and wait for it to reappear.
Method 3 of 5: Write an Invisible Message with Milk
Step 1. Dip the tip of a cotton swab into the milk
Pour the milk into a bowl and wet the cotton swab.
Step 2. Use the cotton swab to write a message on a blank sheet of paper
Then wait for it to dry.
Step 3. Let the milk dry for about 30 minutes
Step 4. Expose the message to heat
You can use a light bulb, flame, candle or iron. The milk will heat at a slower rate than the paper, so the message will reappear.
Method 4 of 5: Write an Invisible Message with a White Wax Crayon
Step 1. Write a message on a white sheet of paper with a white wax crayon
Step 2. Paint over the message using a brush and watercolors
The message will reappear.
Method 5 of 5: Write an Invisible Message Without Ink
This method uses pressure coupled with the malleability of the paper.
Step 1. Overlap two sheets of paper
Put one sheet on top of the other.
Step 2. Write your message on the top sheet
Do it by treading with the pen or pencil.
Step 3. Remove the first sheet of paper
Step 4. Pass a pencil on the second sheet using only the side of the lead, as if to create a shadow in a drawing
The message will reappear and look similar to chalk on the blackboard.
Advice
- For the lemon juice method, it is best to use black foil.
- For the white wax crayon method, you don't have to paint over it, there is an easier method to read the message: take the paper and attach it to a window pane where daylight enters. The text will not be fully visible, but you will still be able to read it.
- If you don't have a white wax crayon, you can use a white candle to write the secret message, then paint over the writing with watercolors as you would if you had used a crayon.
- Make sure you don't get the paper too wet.
- To read a message written with milk or lemon juice, you can place the sheet of paper under a piece of fabric and iron it to make the text appear. Alternatively, you can put the foil in the oven on 175 ° C for a couple of minutes to bring up the message.
- For the white crayon method, instead of using watercolors, you can use a dark colored marker.
- Make sure you don't use more baking soda than water.
