This article shows you how to log out of your Instagram account using the app for iOS and Android devices or the official website on a computer. Read on to find out how.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Mobile Devices
Step 1. Launch the Instagram app
Tap the Instagram application icon, which features a small multicolored camera.
Step 2. Access your user profile by tapping the relevant icon
It features a stylized human silhouette and is placed in the lower right corner of the screen.
If the Instagram app is currently synced with more than one account, you will need to select your profile picture in the lower right corner of the screen
Step 3. Enter the "Settings" menu
Tap the gear icon
(if you are using an iOS device) or press the button ⋮ (on Android systems). Both controls are located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Scroll down the menu that appeared to locate and select the Exit item
It is located at the bottom of the menu.
If you have synced the app with multiple accounts at the same time, the options will be visible Log out of [username] And Log out of all accounts. Choose the one that best meets your current needs.
Step 5. Choose the Remember option or Not now.
When prompted, choose one of the two items indicated to store or not the password to access the profile in question. The option Remember allows you to log back into an Instagram account without having to re-enter the security password. On the contrary, the voice Not now logs out of the profile in question and deletes the login information.
- On Android systems it is necessary to deselect the check button "Remember login information" if you do not want the Instagram application to keep the login credentials of the indicated profile.
- If you are not asked to select "Remember", you will be able to delete your login information after logging out of your profile.
Step 6. When prompted, press the Exit button
In this way the chosen account (or all the accounts on the Instagram app) will no longer be synchronized with the device.
If you are using an Android device, press the button Go out located in the lower right corner of the popup window that appeared.
Step 7. Clear your login credentials
If you want to prevent the Instagram app from automatically logging into the account in question without having to enter the login credentials, tap the item Remove located below the button Log in, then press the button Remove when required.
If you have associated the Instagram app with more than one account, choose the option Manage accounts located at the end of the list of profiles present, touch the icon in the shape of X on the right of the account you want to manage, then press the button Remove when asked.
Method 2 of 2: Desktop Systems
Step 1. Log in to the Instagram website
Type the URL https://www.instagram.com/ into the internet browser of your choice. This will bring up the main page of the Instagram website.
Step 2. Click the profile icon
It is located in the upper right corner of the page.
Step 3. Choose the "Settings" item by clicking on its icon
It is located at the top right of the page. A small popup window will appear.
Step 4. Press the Exit button
It is visible in the center of the newly appeared window. This will immediately log you out of the Instagram account on your computer.
