Reading is the first step towards a better life because it can offer numerous opportunities. What if you weren't the ones with a learning problem in reading? How do you teach the passion for reading? These questions are the beginning of a beautiful experience for both you and your students.
Steps
Step 1. Don't rush
The choice of book depends on the age and knowledge level of the one you are trying to assign a book to. For those who are very young or submissive to reading, look for books with a very low level of difficulty. For those who are older or are a veteran of reading who wants to rekindle their passion for reading, you can take a cue from the current ranking of bestsellers, which generally no one seems to resist.
Step 2. Reward and set goals
Often, the best motivation is competition, at least until the interest in reading becomes more independent. Try to have one book read a week to help students stay consistent. Give out small prizes, like five tickets for each book read and maybe a ticket sale for other prizes.
Step 3. Play the stories with cassettes and CDs
Stories on CDs are excellent alternatives to television and spark interest in reading. Currently, most genres such as children's books, myths, legends, fiction, non-fiction and many others can be found in audio format.
Step 4. Writing is the best thing to do
Writing and reading go hand in hand, as both activities develop grammar, temper and a love of reading.
Step 5. Interest may wane
Currently, most children lose attention VERY FAST. Make lessons lighter by spacing them out to prevent children from being overwhelmed by them.
Step 6. Assign the right book
For example, for an athletic person choose a sports book, a learning-inclined child will certainly like a biography or non-fiction. For the typical child whose life is not all about sports and learning, the lessons may be difficult to prepare. Before you give him a book he will love, you need to develop a bond between you. The neglect of teachers and parents lately leads to a lack of development of reading skills. If you can bond with a child, overcoming television and electronics, the job is done.

- Pushing kids to self-motivate is fine, but too much homework or too much reading can cause you to lose interest.
- Avoid the classics. Sometimes the classics can be a little too dry and boring for a budding reader or for those not inclined to read. Instead, look for more exciting books, like adventure books, that build personality. Be careful to choose the right author based on age.
