This wikiHow teaches you how to tag a user in a Discord group chat or channel using a computer.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Tag a User in a Channel
Step 1. Visit https://www.discordapp.com using a browser
You can use any browser you want, such as Safari or Chrome, to access Discord.
If you are not logged in, click on Log in in the upper right corner of the screen, enter your account information and then click on Log in.
Step 2. Select a server
Server icons appear along the left side of the screen.
Step 3. Select a channel
Click on the name of the channel in which you want to tag a user.
Step 4. Type @ in the text box
The text box is the section where you usually write messages and is located at the bottom of the screen. The list of channel members will appear.
Step 5. Click on the name of the member you want to tag
Your username will appear next to the "@" sign in the message box.
Step 6. Write your message
Assuming you are tagging the user in question because you intend to speak to him directly, type your message right after entering the tag.
Step 7. Hit Enter
The message and tag will then appear in the channel.
Method 2 of 2: Tag a User in a Group Conversation
Step 1. Visit https://www.discordapp.com using a browser
To access Discord, you can use any browser you want, such as Safari or Chrome.
If you are not logged in, click on Log in in the top right corner of the screen, enter your account information and then click Log in.
Step 2. Click on Friends
This option is next to a blue button that features a human silhouette and three horizontal lines. It is located under the search bar.
Step 3. Click on All
This option is located at the top of the screen, towards the center. At this point you should see the list of all your friends.
Step 4. Select a group conversation
This will open the group conversation.
Step 5. Type @ in the text box
The list of people who are in the group chat will appear.
Step 6. Click on the name of the person you want to tag
Your username should now appear next to the "@" symbol.
Step 7. Type your message
Assuming you are tagging the user in question because you intend to speak to him directly, type your message right after entering the tag.
Step 8. Hit Enter
This way the message and tag will appear in the group chat.
