This article explains how to ban someone from a Discord text or voice channel on Android.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Ban Someone from a Text Channel
Step 1. Open Discord
The icon looks like a white joystick on a blue background. It is usually found on the home screen or in the app drawer.
Step 2. Tap ☰
This button is located at the top left. A list of servers will appear.
Step 3. Tap a server to view its channels
Step 4. Tap a text channel to open it
Step 5. Tap the icon depicting two human silhouettes at the top right
The list of members will appear.
Step 6. Tap the name of the member you want to ban
Step 7. Tap Ban
This button is located under the "Administrator" heading. A confirmation window will appear.
Step 8. Select an option in the "Clear Message History" section
To delete messages left by this user on the channel, you can choose between "Do not delete any", "Previous 24 hours" or "Previous 7 days". If you don't want to remove any messages, this step can be skipped.
Step 9. Tap Ban to confirm and proceed
The banned user will only be able to rejoin the channel if you (or another administrator) decide to remove the ban.
Method 2 of 2: Ban Someone from a Voice Channel
Step 1. Open Discord
The icon looks like a white joystick on a blue background. It is usually found on the home screen or in the app drawer.
Step 2. Tap ☰ at the top left
The server list will appear.
Step 3. Tap a server to view its channels
Step 4. Tap a voice channel
The list of members will appear.
Step 5. Tap the name of the member you want to ban
Your user settings will appear.
Step 6. Tap Ban
This entry is located in the "Administrator" section.
Step 7. Tap Ban to confirm and ban the selected user
It will only be able to rejoin the voice channel if you (or another administrator) allow it back.
