This article details how to exit the Dropbox for Windows or macOS desktop program and how to log out of www.dropbox.com.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Sign out of Dropbox on macOS
Step 1. Click the Dropbox icon in the menu bar
The icon looks like an open box and is located at the top right.
Step 2. Click on Account
The icon depicts a human silhouette.
Step 3. Click Unlink this Dropbox…
This will allow you to sign out of Dropbox. A window will appear that will allow you to log in again if you want to log in with another account.
To reconnect to Dropbox, click on the program icon, then log in to your account
Method 2 of 3: Sign out of Dropbox on Windows
Step 1. Click the Dropbox icon in the system tray
It is usually located on the far right, near the clock. The icon looks like a blue and white open box.
If you don't see it, click the arrow pointing up to see more icons
Step 2. Click the gear icon on Dropbox
A menu will appear.
Step 3. Click on Preferences…
Step 4. Click Account
It is the second option at the top of the window.
Step 5. Click Unlink this Dropbox…
This will take you out of Dropbox. A window will appear allowing you to log in if you want to use another account.
To reconnect Dropbox to Windows, click on the icon, then enter your login information to enter
Method 3 of 3: Sign out of Dropbox.com
Step 1. Go to https://www.dropbox.com in a browser
Your account contents should appear on the screen.
Step 2. Click on the profile picture
It is located at the top right. A drop-down menu will appear.
Step 3. Click on Exit
This will log you out of your account.
