Whether you are planning a wild party or a small gathering with friends, you want your guests to have fun. By providing some basic preparations and inviting a dynamic group of people, you can make the event a success. Read this article for tips on how to throw a party that can't fail.
Steps
Step 1. Choose the people to invite
Going simple, just pick your best friends. However, try to make sure that the people you invite don't hate or hate each other. The bigger the party, the less the problem, but if you can avoid any rivalry at its root, then the party will be better.
Step 2. If the party involves some people staying asleep, give them something to do during the day
No matter how good a host you are or how fantastic your home is, parties that last from one day to the next need to start with something different.
Step 3. Here are some examples:
laser gun battles, a day at an amusement park, or go to the beach. Once this activity is done, you can go home.
Step 4. When guests are at your home, make sure there is always plenty of food
In general, you don't want foods that leave guests feeling greasy. Potato pancakes, for example, leave your hands greasy and worsen guests' mood. Provide easy-to-eat food such as pizza, sausage pieces, pies, sandwiches, etc., but make sure you have higher quality and healthier ones as well. Fruit dishes will be ideal.
Step 5. As for the drinking stuff, stock up on soft drinks, whether they are in cans or large bottles and pour into a glass
Personally, I prefer bottles, as they tend to leave less trash once the party is over. Also provide milk, fruit juices, and water - after so much less healthy food and drinks, guests will need something healthier.
Step 6. It is up to you to decide on alcohol, but try to limit its consumption by guests
They may not like it in the moment, but then they will be grateful to you, and it is best to choose this path.
Step 7. Keep the house clean before guests arrive
Your house will likely be a mess by the end of the party, but making a good impression is key to making sure not only that guests return to your next party, but that you enjoy a good reputation. It's okay if there are dirty dishes or other negligible things, but try not to leave any leftover food on the table or clothes scattered around the bedroom.
Step 8. Make sure guests have something to do
Some parties I attend always end up degenerating into the classic "truth or dare", which is fun, but not at all original and doesn't exploit the potential of a party. Sexually oriented games like the bottle or strip poker can be fun at times, but remember there is always a chance they can end up ruining the night.
Step 9. Having a good movie collection helps; otherwise, you can get the latest movies from your nearest rental shop
Some guests may not have seen them, so they may decide to see one. Video games can also keep some guests busy (especially if they are teenagers) but, on the other hand, they can make those who don't play them feel excluded. Plus, just like "truth or dare", video games are a way to entertain guests without the slightest effort. They are fine, but they are not ideal.
Step 10. Balloons can entertain your guests for a short time, and some are worth having
A large music collection and space to dance are also useful, and given the ease with which one can download music these days, it is quite easy and inexpensive to get a good audio library.
Step 11. I can't list here all the ways you might entertain your guests, but if people just talk at the party, it's not a good party
You should have at least five things in the house that can keep your guests entertained for an hour. If you don't have them, go get some.
Step 12. Once you have all the essentials (food, drink, entertainment), and the guests are home, you need to be a good host
Talk to all guests. If you don't talk to one of the guests for more than five minutes … then you shouldn't have invited them. So make sure guests have fun and feel welcome.
Step 13. Prevent anything dangerous from happening
It doesn't matter how funny it may be, or how cool it may seem. Anything that endangers the safety of your guests is completely prohibited. It's like alcohol, it's up to you to decide, and it's up to you to take responsibility for it.
Step 14. When the party is over, help the guests not forget what they brought, clean up as soon as possible (one last good impression is worth the effort) and thank them for coming
If you've set a time for the party to end, start tidying up an hour early. The last few minutes, guests can entertain themselves by watching TV or the like, without causing further clutter.
Advice
- Your guests will usually treat your home with the attention you give them. If they walk in and your house is in a big mess, they won't feel bad about making it dirty, so it's important to make a good first impression on how you keep your house.
- Set aside a good amount of money before the party. You can organize one with little money, but if you can afford a large number of good quality snacks, your guests will be very grateful. Don't overdo it, however.
- When you invite guests, see if you can invite someone who, when needed, can be the soul of the party. By doing this, you should avoid the possibility of finding yourself in trouble and embarrassment.
- Try not to be defeated by bad luck. If it starts to pour and you are on a playground and the rides close, buy some raincoats at a store and make them laugh with your attempts not to get drenched. It happened to me once: we had to give up the rides, but we had a lot of laughs.
