Becoming famous usually requires doing something that makes you famous, such as doing some extravagant action or exploiting your talent. To become famous, you can also try to create your own brand. In return you will have to advertise your ideas and your brand so that people learn to recognize your name.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Doing Something to Become Famous
Step 1. Be unique
Uniqueness allows you to stand out from the crowd, especially when all the others follow it. Therefore, try to become an original character, doing unusual things in any sphere you want.
- For example, McKayla Maroney, although already a well-known gymnast, has become even more famous for that particularly frowning look that she sometimes showed in competition instead of the usual smile and which made her original.
- Another person who has become famous in a similar way is Bobak Ferdowsi. As a member of the crew who helped land a probe on Mars, he was already well known in his environment. However, when people noticed his crest during a live event, he became famous all over the net.
Step 2. Make an original invention
There are those who become famous for what they invent. The best way to invent something is to start with a problem. What are the daily problems facing you or your family? What could you come up with to solve them? If you come up with an innovative solution to an old problem, you could easily become famous.
For example, Mark Zuckerberg is famous for starting Facebook as a young man. He felt the need to create an online social network based (initially) on college campuses and he worked hard to make it happen
Step 3. Do something for others
Some have become famous thanks to their generosity. The key point, however, is this: you have to be the one doing something generous in an unusual or sensational way.
For example, you could start a fundraiser for charity by swimming along the Adriatic coast and asking for donations based on the meters of coastline you swim
Step 4. Attend auditions for a reality show
While some reality shows require special talents (such as knowing how to cook or sing), there are others that don't. Follow some successful reality shows to get an idea of what you like, then find out about the auditions by consulting their websites. Many have become famous thanks to reality shows on television.
Step 5. Beat a world record
This is a method that may take some time, because you will have to work on a skill or task to be performed. The easiest way to understand what you could do is to consult the Guinness World Records list. Find one you think you can beat and commit to succeeding in the feat. When you are ready to break the record, you will need to do so in the presence of an official Guinness World Records judge who can verify.
Step 6. Show your talent
Clearly, many become famous simply because they are talented in a certain field. If you have an innate talent, you may want to spend time cultivating it from an early age. Very talented kids often become famous for a while because the public is usually fascinated by young talents. If you are a minor, ask your parents for permission to post your performance videos on a site like YouTube, where you can share it with your friends.
Part 2 of 3: Creating a Personal Brand
Step 1. Define your brand
When you decide to build a brand, you need to determine what you want people to think when they hear your name. You don't have to invent, but you have to decide which parts of yourself to present to the public. In other words, you need to be consistent.
An example of a YouTuber who has created their own personal brand is Hannah Hart of My Drunk Kitchen. His personal brand leverages a pinch of lightness mixed with tenderness, with which he encourages the public to participate in his community
Step 2. Decide what to offer
When you create your brand, you have to offer something to the public, making what you know about a topic available to them. In other words, your brand needs to be about what you are well versed in, be it robots, culinary arts, or elaborate nail art.
For example, some bloggers leverage their skills in building their own brand, such as Joy the Baker, who started a cooking blog to share her passion with others. He has gained a considerable number of followers thanks to his precision in cooking, his creative recipes and his clear style of writing
Step 3. Introduce yourself to the world
With all the social media platforms available it is easy to start sharing content with users. You can write blogs, tweets, make videos or take photographs; there are also those who do all these things together. Basically you have to start by showing what you know by sharing specialized content.
If you have the serious intention of creating a brand, you should consider creating your own website. By doing this, your fans will have a point of reference where they can find everything about you
Step 4. Spend some time networking
Becoming famous is a real job. In other words, you have to constantly challenge yourself. Networking on the Internet passes through the creation of contacts with other content creators, that is, you will have to comment and share the content of other users to promote yourself as well.
You can also try techniques like blogging, asking some blogs (relevant to what you do) to welcome you as a guest. The host could interview you or you could write an article as a guest
Step 5. Eliminate anything that doesn't have to do with your brand
Look at social media with a critical eye. Any content that doesn't fit the brand you have in mind should be deleted. You can also activate Google Alerts for your name, to see what is being said about you on the net.
For example, if you are trying to create an image suitable for families, you should delete photos of when you go wild at parties
Step 6. Curate your posts
Don't post everything on your mind. Whenever you think about publishing an update, a blog post or a photograph, first consider whether it is compatible with your brand or not.
For example, if your goal is to present yourself as a light and fun character, posting serious posts about recent events may not be compatible with your brand
Part 3 of 3: Advertise Yourself or an Idea
Step 1. Contact the manufacturers
If you have a book or album to promote, you can try contacting the producers directly. Search websites for programs you think are good and find manufacturers' email addresses. You can present your idea directly to the producers. If they find you a good candidate, they might invite you to their programs.
Don't stop on the first try. You have to be persevering. Keep looking for different program producers
Step 2. Start small
Don't aim for national programs from the start. Start with television or news shows on local stations. Once you've proven you can handle it on television, they'll contact you to attend more important events.
In television programs we look for people who are polite and engaging and who have something to communicate
Step 3. Find similar brands
If you can find people who produce content similar to yours, but who are more popular, try to make friends with them. By associating with other popular brands, yours could gain more notoriety.
You could meet people who have similar brands simply by reading other blogs, watching videos, and being active on social media. Once you've found other people like you, start interacting with their content by replying to their posts and commenting on their videos. You can also meet people by attending conferences on blogging and vlogging
Step 4. Be engaging
Whatever you post on social media, it must never be trivial. It can be of an ordinary nature, like an update on your daily life, but it must always contain an original part about you, something that makes it captivating in the eyes of the readers.
