You have Baby Mario in Mario Kart Wii, but what is his purpose if he can't compete against his little brother? Baby Luigi is one of the hardest characters to unlock in the game, mainly due to the number of races you have to win. There are a few different ways to unlock Baby Luigi. Read the article to learn how.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Unlocking the Expert Ghosts
Step 1. Start the timed practice
You must unlock eight Expert Ghosts. Against the Ghosts you can race in a time trial. Expert Ghosts must be unlocked by beating Regular Ghosts for each path. The latter have "Nin ★" next to their names.
Go to "Single Player". Select "Timed Races"
Step 2. Choose any character
You have to race at the top of the game to choose a character and a kart to be comfortable with.
Step 3. Choose any path
You will have to win at least eight races - choose the routes you know well. This will save you a lot of frustration.
Step 4. Select the Ghost data
After selecting the path, you will be able to choose the data you want to use. Choose the one with "Nin ★" next to the name.
Step 5. Compete against the ghost
The race will start and you will see the ghost on the track with you. You have to beat the ghost by about 7 seconds to unlock the Expert Ghost. The number of seconds it takes seems to vary from ghost to ghost, so always try to put as much space between you as you can.
- You will see a message at the bottom of the screen after the race informing you that "A fast ghost has appeared!".
- You don't have to beat the Expert Ghost - just unlock him.
- Repeat until you have unlocked eight Expert Ghosts. Beat the usual Regular Ghost on eight different courses to unlock eight Expert Ghosts.
Step 6. After unlocking the eighth ghost, you must return to the Select Player menu before you can unlock Baby Luigi
Exit the game, then return to the Main Menu on the Select Player screen.
Step 7. Choose the player profile you used for time trials
All done! You will see a message that says "Congratulations! You have unlocked Baby Luigi!"
Method 2 of 2: Compete 3,150 Times
Step 1. Compete as much as possible
If you fail to defeat the Ghosts, Baby Luigi can still be unlocked by running 3,150 times. Any race or battle counts towards this total, except for time trials.
