WhatsApp allows you to see if your contacts are online and also to know when was the last time they used the application. It is not possible to check the status of all contacts at the same time, but you can check one at a time very easily.
Steps
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
Step 2. Tap Chat
Step 3. Tap a conversation
Select a conversation you had with the contact whose status you want to know.
If you haven't had any conversations with this contact, you need to open a new chat. Press the icon depicting the dialogue bubble at the top right
Step 4. Check the status
If it is online, "Online" will appear under the contact name, otherwise "Last accessed today at …".
- If you see "Online", it means that the contact is using the app right now.
- If you see "Last seen today at …", it means that the contact used the app at the specified time.
- If the contact wants to talk to you, you might instead read "he's typing…" or "he's recording audio…".
