This article explains how to disable Bixby on a Samsung Galaxy mobile or tablet. Several steps are required to completely deactivate it. The first thing to do is to disable Bixby Voice and then the Bixby button. Finally, remove this feature from the Home screen.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Disable Bixby Voice
Step 1. Swipe right on the Home screen to access the Bixby screen
Use this method to turn off the feature that lets you talk to Bixby when you hold down the associated key.
You can also access this screen by pressing the Bixby button on the left side of the device (below the button that allows you to lower the volume)
Step 2. Press the ⁝ button
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Tap on Settings
The Bixby settings will appear.
Step 4. Swipe the "Bixby Voice" button to turn it off
Bixby Voice will then be deactivated, but the key will continue to be active. To also disable the button, read this section.
Part 2 of 3: Disabling the Bixby Button
Step 1. Disable Bixby Voice
If you haven't already turned off Bixby Voice, you'll need to do this before you can proceed.
Step 2. Press the Bixby button
It is located under the volume key on the left side of the device.
Step 3. Tap the gear icon
It is located in the upper right corner. A new button will appear at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Swipe the "Bixby Button" button to turn it off
Once the key is deactivated, this function will no longer be opened when it is pressed. The last step to remove Bixby is to disable it on the Home screen.
Part 3 of 3: Disable Bixby on the Home Screen
Step 1. Disable the Bixby key
If you haven't disabled it yet, read this section before continuing.
Step 2. Press and hold an empty part of the Home screen
A menu will open.
Step 3. Swipe right to access the Bixby home screen
You may need to swipe your finger on the screen more than once.
Step 4. Swipe the "Bixby Home" button to turn it off
This way, Bixby will no longer be active on the Samsung Galaxy.
