The "AutoCorrect" feature was designed to try to automatically correct typing errors that are made when writing text. Unfortunately, however, when this feature chooses the wrong word, or the word you are trying to type is not recognized by the dictionary, there is a lot of confusion. But luck is on our side, and the "AutoCorrect" feature can be easily disabled in a few simple steps.
Steps
Step 1. Open the "Settings" application
Select the relative icon that you find in the "Applications" panel.
Step 2. Choose the menu item "Language and input" located in the "Personal" section of the menu that appeared
Step 3. Tap the gear icon next to "Samsung Keyboard"
The "Samsung Keyboard" is the default input method for the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Step 4. Move the "Text prediction" switch to the "0" position
To do this, move it to the left. From now on, when entering text, the AutoCorrect function will no longer attempt to correct the words you typed.
Step 5. Disable the AutoCorrect feature for other keyboards installed on your device
- Google keyboard: access its Settings menu by tapping the gear icon next to the keyboard. Select the item "Auto Correction", then choose the "Disable" option from the menu that appeared.
- SwiftKey: Access its Settings menu by tapping the gear icon next to the keyboard. Access the "Advanced" menu, tap "Spacebar completion mode" and finally choose the "Always insert a space" option.
- Swype: Access its Settings menu by tapping the gear icon next to the keyboard. Tap "Preferences", then uncheck the "AutoCorrect" and "Word Hint" checkboxes.
