Fed up that your rugs have that stale smell? Clean them with this method, to make them look and smell like new.
Steps
Step 1. Mix the washing powder with water
Calculate the quantities of product with common sense and mix the two ingredients with a cloth.
Step 2. Replace the vacuum cleaner bag
In this way it will not release previously sucked dirt particles. Clean the entire surface of the carpet by vacuuming it carefully and in different directions. This way you will collect as much dirt as possible.
Step 3. Clean a small area of the carpet with the damp cloth and pick up any excess thread
Step 4. Treat stubborn stains by wetting them and waiting 5 minutes before proceeding further
Then take a carpet brush and use it to scrub the fabric in different directions. If necessary, repeat the operation several times.
Step 5. Spread clean white cloths on the carpet to blot excess fluids and protect it from dirt
Step 6. After using the soap and water solution, discard it and replace it with fresh, clean water
Step 7. Treat the carpet with clean water to remove the soap, then let it dry
Open the windows or turn on the fan to speed up the process.
Step 8. Make sure you wipe all traces of detergent off the carpet, otherwise it will get dirty faster
Step 9. Once dry, your carpet will smell like detergent and will be well cleaned
Step 10. Vacuum it one last time to make it fluffy
If you have used a carpet cleaning machine, the vacuum cleaner will remove any residue of dust or dirt that loosened during cleaning.
Step 11. Apply carpet protective product
It will prevent future stains from getting into the fabric, making it easier to remove.
Step 12. Cleaning a restricted area of the carpet:

Use a clean cloth and blot the stain.

Pour 60ml of cold water over the stained area.

Blot with a clean cloth and DO NOT rub the stain to avoid spreading it around the surrounding area.

Continue blotting and adding small amounts of water until the stain is completely removed.

Blot with a new clean cloth and remove all excess water.

- If you use a carpet cleaning machine make sure it has a water heating function. Hot water dissolves dirt and kills germs more effectively. Buy a good cleaning product for carpets, it must be cleansing, perfuming and protective. Pour it into your carpet washing machine and move it back and forth across the fabric. Continue until you get the desired result.
- Before washing the carpet or applying any product, use a vacuum cleaner. Some particles can be removed more easily when dry.
Warnings
- Do not wet the carpet excessively so as not to damage it, and not to damage the floor below. Remember that it will take a long time for a carpet to dry.
- While washing your carpet, protect it from passing and any additional dirt. Make sure you have plenty of time to finish cleaning.
