Oils are great for moisturizing and disciplining all hair types. Although there are many products available on the market, making an oil at home is easy, fast and inexpensive. Hair oils usually contain a carrier oil, such as coconut or olive, along with essential oils or plant elements. If you want to thicken your hair, accelerate its growth, prevent hair loss or avoid graying, you can quickly prepare an oil to treat your specific needs.

Steps
Method 1 of 4: Prepare an Oil to Accelerate Hair Growth
Step 1. Get coconut oil, castor oil, and apricot kernel oil
You can find them in a health food store or on the internet. Use a measuring jug to measure 60ml of coconut oil, 30ml of castor oil, and 30ml of apricot kernel oil. Pour them into a bowl.
- Coconut oil helps moisturize the hair, soothe the scalp and prevent dandruff. Alternatively, jojoba oil is a good substitute, as it helps retain water.
- If possible, try to get cold pressed apricot kernel oil.
- Castor oil has properties that help promote hair growth.
Step 2. Get the essential oils of rosemary, lavender, peppermint and moscatella
You can find them in a health food store or on the internet. Measure 12 drops of rosemary essential oil and 6 drops of lavender, peppermint and moscatella essential oil. Pour them into the bowl.
- The essential oils of rosemary and moscatella stimulate circulation in the scalp area. Lavender has an intensive nourishing function and peppermint promotes hair growth.
- There are many essential oils that can enrich hair oils. If you can't find them, you don't need to include them all, and you can replace them with other oils if you want.
- Other essential oils to try to make a hair oil include cedarwood oil (which moisturizes the scalp), almond oil (which soothes the scalp), and sandalwood oil (which helps strengthen hair.).
- Never apply essential oils directly to the scalp, as they can irritate the skin. Always dilute them with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil.
Step 3. Pour all the ingredients into a glass jar and shake it well
Use a jar with a capacity of about 150 ml and with a lid that closes tightly. Pour all the ingredients you measured directly into the jar and then close it. Shake it vigorously to mix the ingredients.
- This mixture will have a thick consistency due to the presence of castor oil.
- You can use a dropper to take the oil out of the jar or pour a small amount into an empty essential oil bottle so you can use it directly.
Step 4. Massage the oil into your scalp and leave it on for 30 minutes before washing your hair
Pour a few drops of oil on your fingertips. Use them to massage your scalp and let the oil penetrate. Wait for 30 minutes and then remove it by shampooing.
- Alternatively, you can use the oil to moisturize your hair after you get out of the shower. Pour a few drops on your palms and run your hands through your hair until you reach the ends.
- Hair oils can sometimes require 2 or 3 rinses to completely go away. If the residues bother you, just repeat the wash.
Method 2 of 4: Prepare a Hair Thicken Oil
Step 1. Mix Jamaican black castor oil, coconut oil, lavender essential oil, and rosemary oil
Pour 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of Jamaican black castor oil, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of cold pressed coconut oil, 6 drops of lavender essential oil, and 6 drops of rosemary essential oil into a small bowl. Use a whisk to mix the ingredients until you get a smooth blend.
- Jamaican black castor oil helps repair weak or damaged hair.
- Lavender essential oil is effective for polishing hair and rosemary essential oil helps stimulate the roots.
Step 2. Massage the oil into your scalp for 15 minutes
Pour a few drops of the mixture onto your fingertips. Use them to massage your scalp and run them through your hair until they reach the ends of your hair.
Take the time to massage your hair and make sure the oil is evenly distributed from roots to ends
Step 3. Rinse your hair after 30 minutes to get rid of the oil
After massaging them, wait for 30 minutes before washing them as you usually do. Gently squeeze them with a towel to get rid of excess water and then let them dry on their own.
If possible, use a sulfate-free shampoo to protect your hair from frizz
Method 3 of 4: Use Oil to Limit Hair Loss
Step 1. Grind 5 hibiscus flowers and 5 leaves until you have a pulp
Place the hibiscus flowers and leaves in a mortar. Grind them with the pestle until you get a consistency similar to that of a fine pulp.
Hibiscus contains vitamins and nutrients that can fight hair loss, helping to achieve thicker and stronger hair
Step 2. Heat ground hibiscus leaves and flowers in coconut oil for about 10 minutes
Pour 100ml coconut oil into a saucepan, then add the ground hibiscus leaves and flowers. Adjust the heat to a moderate heat and heat the ingredients until the oil begins to steam. This should take about 10 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat once the oil has started steaming.
- Alternatively, you can use olive oil instead of coconut oil, as it is also a good carrier. Coconut oil has the function of softening the hair. Olive oil is a good alternative, as it helps hydrate them.
Step 3. Filter the oil into an airtight glass jar
Use a colander to remove ground hibiscus leaves and flowers from the oil. Throw them away and leave the oil in the jar to start using it.
Step 4. Massage the oil into your scalp for 15 minutes and rinse it off after 45 minutes
Massage your scalp for 15 minutes using the oil you have prepared. Then, wash them off with a sulfate-free shampoo. Let your hair dry naturally in the air.
Use this oil 2-3 times a week for best results
Method 4 of 4: Preventing Hair Darkening with an Oil
Step 1. Make a handful of curry leaves and 4 tablespoons (60 ml) of coconut oil
Buy fresh curry leaves from a well-stocked supermarket, Indian food store, or online. If possible, choose cold pressed coconut oil.
- To prepare the oil, always use fresh curry leaves instead of dried, as they are more fragrant.
- Curry leaves help prevent hair graying and promote hair growth. This is because they are rich in vitamin B and can help recover melanin.
Step 2. Heat the curry leaves and coconut oil for about 10 minutes
Put the curry leaves and coconut oil directly into a saucepan. Adjust the heat to a moderate temperature. Let the ingredients heat until black residues have formed. This should take about 10 minutes.
Make sure the temperature is no higher than 180 ° C
Step 3. Let the oil cool for about 30 minutes
Remove the saucepan from the heat once black residues have formed. Wait for the oil to cool before applying it to your hair.
You can store it in an emetically sealed glass jar if you don't intend to use it all at once
Step 4. Massage the oil into your scalp and then rinse it off after an hour
Apply cold oil to your fingertips. Massage it carefully into your scalp and then wait for an hour. At the end of the exposure time, rinse your hair and wash it as you usually do.
- It is advisable to apply it 2 times a week.
- Keep it in a warm place to make sure the coconut oil remains liquid. It may be helpful to store it in a jar and keep it in a sunny area.
