Gathering your hair with pliers can save time and protect your hairstyle. Making the styles proposed in the article takes only a few moments, but allows you to have a neat appearance and keep your hair away from your face.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: French Chignon
Step 1. Brush your hair
Especially if you keep them long, untie any knots before picking them up, otherwise the pliers could get caught. After removing each knot, follow the directions in the next steps to get a voluminous effect on the head and let some free strands fall on the back of the bun, masking the hair clip.
Step 2. Place your palms under the hair
Lift your elbows and let your fingertips touch behind your neck.
Step 3. Take the entire hair in your hands
Stay in this position, with your palms facing up and your thumbs on top of the gathered hair.
Step 4. Twist the hair against the nape of the neck while lifting it upwards
You can twist them as many times as you like, depending on your hair style and type. If they're thin, a quarter or half turn may be enough to get a soft bun. If you have thick hair, you may need to do several turns to make a tight, neat bun.
Step 5. Secure your hair after twisting it
Use the pliers to immobilize only the part that is twisted, leaving the ends of the hair free to fall back on the clip.
If you want the free strands to be longer and more visible, you can hold the ends of the hair in one hand and open the tongs slightly with the other. At this point, gently pull them upwards, then close the clip again. Repeat until you are satisfied
Method 2 of 4: Twisted Ponytail
Step 1. Gather your hair into a classic ponytail
Comb them towards the back of the head, then tie them with a hair elastic.
Step 2. Twist the tail into a spiral
Point the tail towards the ceiling, then start twisting it from the base in a neat spiral.
Step 3. Tuck the ends of the hair under the base of the ponytail
Direct the tail end down, then tuck it under the base of the spiral.
If you have long hair, chances are you'll need to pin it in place with a few bobby pins as you twist it
Step 4. Secure them with pliers
Place it directly over the spiral trying to contain it completely.
Method 3 of 4: Collect Hair Quickly
Step 1. Pull your hair back
To quickly tie them up and get a simple but neat look, gather the hair on the sides of your face, half in one hand and half in the other, then bring it to the back of your head.
Step 2. Now lift them up and lock them with the pliers
Move them up slightly to create volume, then lock them in that position with the hair tongs. The grip of the clothespin should point directly behind the head.
Method 4 of 4: Using Two Pliers
Step 1. Fix the first one on the back of the head
Quite simply, use it to pick up only the hair on the top half of the head.
Step 2. Now comb the rest of the hair towards the nape of the neck
Pick them up and lock them using the second pliers. It will need to be placed right under the other.
Advice
- Try curling your hair before picking it up to add volume to your hairstyle.
- Try placing the clamp at different heights, while looking in the mirror, to decide which effect you prefer.
- If you have thick hair, choose a large pliers that can hold the entire hair. The distance between one tooth and the other can help you select the one that best suits your needs; if the teeth are very close together, it means that a voluminous mass of hair would subject the spring to excessive pressure.
