Step 1. Draw a hexagon
![Draw a Hexagonal Prism Step 2 Draw a Hexagonal Prism Step 2](https://i.sundulerparents.com/images/009/image-24971-2-j.webp)
Step 2. Add four vertical lines
Draw a vertical line for each of the visible corners of the hexagon

Step 3. Draw the base
Connect the ends of the vertical lines to get the base of the prism

Step 4. You now have your prism in front of you

Step 5. Color in some details to make it look 3D
- Use colors to give an idea of the volumes of the prism.
- Include in the drawing the shadow of the prism generated by the light source.
Method 2 of 3: Transparent Prism

Step 1. Draw a hexagon
This will be the top base of the prism
![Draw a Hexagonal Prism Step 7 Draw a Hexagonal Prism Step 7](https://i.sundulerparents.com/images/009/image-24971-7-j.webp)
Step 2. Draw another hexagon
The second hex will be the lower base of the prism. The two figures must be mirrored

Step 3. Connect the lines
- Connect each of the corners of the top base of the prism with the corresponding corners of the bottom base.
- You can also use this same technique to draw a three-dimensional prism with a different base.

Step 4. The drawing is complete
Trace the back lines with a lighter color to give an idea of the volumes. They must seem hidden from view

Step 5. Color the prism
Method 3 of 3: Basic Hexagonal Prism

Step 1. Draw a polygon:
these passages can be applied to any shape, for example to squares, triangles, pentagons, octagons, hexagons or decagons. In this case a hex is used.

Step 2. Draw an overlapping polygon with roughly the same shape and size
If you are using a computer drawing program, you can simply copy and paste the first figure. The base of the second hex must be slightly lower than the first, slightly offset to the right.

Step 3. Connect the corners of the first figure to the corresponding corners of the second hexagon
Advice
- Color or blend the design if you wish.
- If you use a paper and a pencil instead of a program to draw on your computer, it is important to have a ruler available.
- These techniques work with any polygon, including three-dimensional letters.
