Steps
Method 1 of 3: Garlic Flavored Beer Fondue
Step 1. Take the peeled garlic and cut in half
Rub it on the inside surface of a pot and throw it away. Place the butter in the pot and let it melt over low heat. Rotate the pot to distribute it evenly.
Step 2. Add the flour and beer
Pour a little flour at a time over the butter, mixing hand by hand with a whisk. Do this for about 2 minutes. Add the beer.
Step 3. Now, turn the heat to medium-high and bring to a boil
Lower the heat and let the ingredients simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir constantly while cooking.
The mixture will be ready once it becomes smooth and thick. The time it takes to reach this consistency depends on your cooking
Step 4. Lower the heat to low and gradually add the cheese, calculating about 120g at a time
Meanwhile, stir with a wooden ladle or similar utensil until the cheese has melted completely and the mixture has a smooth consistency.
Gradually add the cheese until finished. In the meantime, keep stirring
Step 5. Serve the beer fondue
Pour it into a container, slow cooker, or fondue pot. If you use a normal container, it is good to eat the fondue immediately to prevent it from cooling or thickening excessively. Slow cookers or fondue pans allow you to keep it warm throughout the party or event.
- To create a pleasant aesthetic effect or modify the recipe, you could garnish it for example with chopped onion and chopped parsley;
- Put the leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container. You can keep them for at least 5 or 7 days.
Method 2 of 3: Rich and Creamy Beer Fondue
Step 1. Take a medium sized bowl, then place the cheese and cornstarch in it
Mix them with your hands (wash them first) or a ladle until smooth. Corn starch allows for a thick and creamy consistency.
Mix the ingredients, set the bowl aside for now
Step 2. In a saucepan, mix the beer, milk, mustard and Worcestershire sauce with a whisk
Mix the ingredients well, turn on the gas and cook over medium heat until they simmer.
While cooking, stir them often with a whisk to prevent them from burning
Step 3. Add the cheese a little at a time and mix
Since the sauce will gradually thicken, you should mix it with a solid utensil, such as a wooden ladle. Continue to stir and add the cheese until finished. The mixture should thicken and gurgle slightly.
Step 4. Add the hot sauce and salt
Stir with a wooden ladle to make it evenly distribute. Taste and season with salt. Serve immediately when cooked.
You can keep the fondue warm and prevent it from thickening too much by using a fondue or slow cooker
Method 3 of 3: Best Enjoy Beer Fondue
Step 1. Serve the fondue with chips and pretzels, perfect for dipping in the sauce
However, this combination can be a bit salty in some cases. To remedy this, serve the chips and pretzels along with assorted vegetables and greens, such as carrot sticks and cucumbers.
Different types of chips and pretzels can be used for the beer fondue. Thick chips, like pita bread, are more compact and allow you to take out larger quantities of cheese
Step 2. Pour the beer fondue over the pretzel bread
Although it has a golden and salty rind, the crumb is characterized by a soft texture. It is precisely these characteristics that make it perfect for fondue. You can pour the fondue over the bread or use it to dip the Pretzel.
Brezel bread is not very popular, but it can be found in the most well-stocked bakeries
Step 3. Use the beer fondue to dip some appetizers
Cut some savory bread (like a baguette or rustic bread), ham and cucumbers into cubes. Cut the onions into strips. Place them on a platter and serve them with the sauce. Dip them in the cheese. Enjoy your meal!
