Infusing pears in vodka will spread a delicious fruity aroma into your drink. The final product will have a slightly cloudy but incredibly tasty appearance.
Ingrediants
Portions:
12 - 15
- 6 - 10 Seckel Pears (the smallest of the pears)
- 1 liter of Vodka
Steps
Step 1. Cut the pears into quarters and remove the core with a sharp knife
Step 2. Sterilize a large glass container by washing it in the dishwasher
Choose an airtight container and set up a boiling water wash. Alternatively, bring some water to a boil and pour it into the jar.
Step 3. Transfer the pears to the jar
Step 4. Pour the vodka over the pears
Then seal the jar.
Step 5. Store it in a cool, dry place for at least 2 weeks
Step 6. After the indicated time has elapsed, transfer the flavored vodka into clean bottles or jars
Strain it through a piece of food fabric and throw the pears in the compost bin. Alternatively, eat them immediately because if stored they will take on an unpleasant brown color.
Step 7. Seal the containers and refrigerate until use
Advice
- It will not be necessary to peel the pears before infusing them. If you want to intensify the fruity flavor of your vodka you can extend the infusion time up to 2 months.
- Add liveliness to your vodka by incorporating a small piece of ginger (about 5cm) into the infusion. Peel it and cut it finely.
- To make the pear liqueur, add the peels of 2 apples, 1 clove, 1 piece of cinnamon (1 - 1.5 cm), 2 coriander seeds, 1 pinch of nutmeg and 200 g of sugar to the mixture. Let the ingredients rest for at least 2 weeks.
