Plants vs. Zombies is a very popular game, and it has an original style. You can improve his style even more by modifying the zombie clothes. Some of the later levels can be extremely difficult, and in some cases it will feel like you never have enough Suns. If you are playing the PC version of the game, there are ways to use cheats and gain advantages. Read from Step 1 below to learn how to change zombie outfits and have endless Suns in the PC version of Plants vs. Zombies.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Change the Zombie Appearance
Step 1. Start a game
You can use special codes to change the way you view zombies in normal games. These codes have no effect on the game itself, and you will not receive penalties if you use them. You will be able to use these tricks in any Adventure level.
These codes also work on the Mac version
Step 2. Enter a code
Once you have started a level, you can use the keyboard to enter the following cheats. The appearance of zombies or lawnmowers will change:
- pinata - Zombies will explode in a shower of candy when destroyed.
- mustache - Zombies will no longer shave and have a stylish mustache.
- future - Zombies come from a future where everyone uses sunglasses.
- daisies - Zombies killed leave behind a pleasant strip of daisies.
- sukhbir - Zombie moans will be slightly different.
- trickedout - Change the look of the mowers with this code.
Method 2 of 2: Get Unlimited Suns
Step 1. Download Cheat Engine
It is a free program that allows you to modify the code of many games. You can download Cheat Engine directly from the developer website.
- With Cheat Engine you will also download OpenCandy, an adware service. If you don't want it, you will find a link on the Cheat Engine downloads page to download the program without using the automatic installer. This is the recommended way to install the program.
- Extract the RAR file to a folder on your computer desktop.
Step 2. Open Plants vs
Zombies. You will need to run the game for the Cheat Engine to modify it. Start at the level you want to use the cheats on, and note how many Suns you are starting with (usually 50). Pause the game.
Step 3. Switch to windowed mode
If you are playing in full screen mode, you will find that it is much easier to use cheats in windowed mode. Open the menu and uncheck the "Full Screen" box. Click on "Back to the game" and you will change the view mode of Plants vs. Zombies. You will be able to see your desktop behind the game window.
Step 4. Switch to Cheat Engine
Open the Cheat Engine folder on the desktop and run the Cheatengine.exe file. When the program window opens, click on the computer icon in the upper left corner of the screen. Find the "popcapgame1.exe" file in the list of processes that appear. Click on the Open button once selected.
Step 5. Back to the game
Return to the game window and resume the game. Wait for a Sun to appear and click to collect it. Your Solos should go from 50 to 75. Pause the game again and return to the Cheat Engine.
Step 6. Enter "75" in the Cheat Engine "Hex" field
Click on the Next Scan button to view the list of values that correspond to what you have entered into the game in the left part of the window. If the value of the Suns is different from 75, enter the current value, but it will be very difficult to find the code you are looking for when the suns are 50. Entering 75 should give you a single result.
Step 7. Right click on the value you found
Select Add selected addresses to the address list (Add selected address to address list). The value will be added to the lower pane of the window.
Step 8. Check the box of the item you just added
In the "Address" column you should see the same value as in the results list.
Step 9. Edit the value
Once the value box is checked, right click on it and select Change Record → Value. Enter the amount of Suns you want, then click OK. 999,999 should be enough!
You will immediately see the new amount of Suns appear in the game
Warnings
- Cheat Engine can be detected by online platforms such as Steam, Punkbuster and Origin, and may cause your account to be banned. To be safe, don't use Cheat Engine when connected to one of these services.
- "too hot" is a code that is often reported on the internet to get infinite Suns, but it doesn't actually work. You will need to use Cheat Engine to get infinite Suns.
