The Xbox One is the latest addition to Microsoft Xbox. Although obviously more powerful than the Xbox 360 - connecting to the internet with this console remains simple and technically basic.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Method 1 of 2: Wired connection
Step 1. Get an Ethernet cable
You will need it to connect your Xbox One to the telephone socket: Consider the length of your cable and the distance between your console and the socket: make sure the cable is not too short!
Your Xbox may have a cable in the box, but otherwise you'll have to buy one. Currently, Xbox Ones don't include a cable
Step 2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the LAN port
On the back of the Xbox One, in the lower right corner next to the infrared output, you will find the LAN port of the console. Here you will plug in the Ethernet cable.
Step 3. Connect the Ethernet cable to the phone jack
This end of the cable goes directly into the socket. Remember, your outlet could be a router or the modem itself.
It could also be an Ethernet wall socket
Step 4. Turn on your console
Once you've set up your wired connection, you can turn on your Xbox One. The start up should already allow you access to the internet.
You can turn on your console by pressing the Home button on the controller. The Xbox One has added a voice control option that "wakes up" your console simply by saying "Xbox On". The Kinect of the Xbox One can also recognize your biometric scan through which it accesses the user via facial recognition
Method 2 of 2: Method 2 of 2: Wireless connection
Step 1. Log in to Wi-Fi
Just like the Xbox 360 Slim, the Xbox One can easily access the internet via wirless in no time! It has built-in Wi-Fi 802.11n Wi-Fi Direct, which allows it to automatically connect to the router.
Step 2. Turn on your console
The first time you turn it on, it will not automatically connect to the network since it has not yet memorized the data and access codes to your router.
Step 3. Choose the signal
In the network menu, the Xbox One will show all Wi-Fi points within the signal area. Once the Xbox One finds your router on the network, select it and you can connect to the internet. You may need to enter the router password first, depending on your router's security settings. Xbox One will remember this wireless setting and use it automatically in subsequent sessions.
- If you have an Ethernet cable connected to the console, it will automatically go into “wired” mode. If you want to connect wirelessly, just unplug the Ethernet cable.
- You may need to change the configuration of your console if it cannot connect to the network. When in doubt, set everything automatically or simply reset and go back to the initial settings.
