Notifications are a great tool that allows you to read and respond promptly to messages you receive on your mobile device. Assuming, however, that you are in a place or situation where you do not want to be disturbed, for example while you are immersed in reading a great book, while watching a movie you have been waiting for for a long time or simply while you are resting, what can you do? Simple, you can turn on the 'Snooze Notifications' mode of the Hangouts mobile app. This feature allows you to temporarily disable Hangouts alerts for a specific time, after which everything will automatically return to normal.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Turn on Hangouts Notification Delay on Android
Step 1. Launch the Hangouts application
To do this, select the application icon located on the 'Home' of your device.
Step 2. Select the icon to access the main menu of the application located at the top right of the screen
This will allow you to view the Hangouts application settings.
Step 3. In the menu that appeared, select the item 'Snooze Notifications'
Step 4. Choose how long you want to temporarily disable application notifications
At the end, a message will appear on the screen, indicating that notifications have been 'Postponed'. It will also show the time when notifications will be active again.
If you want to reset notifications before the agreed time, press the 'Cancel' button next to the message indicating that notifications have been postponed
Method 2 of 2: Turn on Hangouts Notification Delay on iOS
Step 1. Launch the Hangouts application
To do this, select the application icon located on the 'Home' of your device.
Step 2. Access the main menu of the application
Select your profile picture located at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Select the bell icon
You can also select the icon to access the application settings and choose the 'Snooze Notifications' option.
Step 4. Choose how long you want to temporarily disable application notifications
At the end, a message will appear on the screen, indicating that notifications have been 'Postponed'. It will also show the time when notifications will be active again.
If you want to restore notifications before the agreed time, select your profile picture, select the bell icon and choose the 'Cancel' option
Advice
- This procedure only serves to postpone receiving notifications sent by the Hangouts application and not to disable them.
- Sending Hangouts app notifications only affects your Hangouts app settings, not your device's general notification settings.
- When the Hangouts application is in 'Snooze Notifications' mode, you will still be able to receive new messages.
