Indicating one's position on the applications of the various social networks is a trend that has increasingly taken hold in recent years. Sites like Facebook allow you to log in, publish a status and then tag a certain place to give information about your geographical position. This is a very effective way to find a friend or tell everyone where you are. Adding a place to a post can therefore be a nice way to have more interactions on this platform. This can be done very easily on both a computer and a smartphone.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Add the Location on a Computer
Step 1. Log into Facebook
Open a browser and type www.facebook.com. Enter your email address and password in the boxes indicated on the login screen.
Step 2. Update your status
Write a message in the "What are you thinking about?" Box, which is on the Timeline or on the main page.
Step 3. Look for the geographic location icon
When you finish writing the status, look under the box before proceeding with posting. You will find a list of icons there. Click on the option titled "Register", which is represented by a GPS indicator.
Step 4. Indicate your location
Clicking on the icon will open a list of known places that are in the surrounding area. You can click on one of them or start typing the name of the place, which is usually suggested as you go. Click on it to add it to the status.
Step 5. Click on the "Publish" button
Please review the status to correct any errors and quickly re-read it before posting. This way you will avoid registering in the wrong place and you will not have to bother to modify the publication.
Method 2 of 2: Add the Location on a Smartphone
Step 1. Download the Facebook application on your mobile
Search for it in the Google Play Store or the App Store depending on the smartphone you use. Tap the Facebook icon once you find it and then tap "Install" to download the application.
Step 2. Look for the application in your mobile's "Downloads" folder
Once the installation is complete, you can find it among the files downloaded to your phone by tapping the "Download" icon on the main screen.
Step 3. Tap the application
Once the application opens and the login screen appears, fill in the boxes by entering your username and password. Then, tap the "Login" button.
Step 4. Tap the "Post a Status Update" option
You will see it at the top of the screen immediately after logging in.
Step 5. Write a status update
Tap the white box that says "Post a status update" and write a message. When you finish, look below - you will see a list of options. Tap the third one, titled "Add Location" and depicted by a GPS pointer.
Step 6. Indicate your location
A list will appear with all known places in the surrounding area. Tap on the one you want to share and then tap the "Update Location" button at the bottom of the screen to add the post to the post.
