Downloading apps for the Samsung Galaxy S3 can enhance the functionality of your device, allowing you to play games, read books and news, and do so much more. You can download applications for the Galaxy S3 from the Google Play Store, or install.apk files from third-party sources outside the Play Store platform.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Download App from the Google Play Store
Step 1. Tap on "Play Store" from the Home screen or Galaxy S3 app library
Step 2. Review the Google Play Terms of Service, then press “Accept”
The app categories and recommended apps will be displayed on the screen.
Step 3. Press the various app categories to browse the ones available on the Play Store
You can browse games, movies, music and books, or browse the recommended apps displayed under the category list.
Step 4. Tap an application to view the description, price and reviews posted by other users
Step 5. Tap the purchase price or "Install" to download the application to your Galaxy S3
Step 6. Examine the app's permissions list, if applicable, then click "Accept"
Some applications may require access to certain device functions. For example, the Instagram app will require access to your phone's camera, memory, phone number, and several other items.
If you download a paid app, select the payment method you prefer, then tap "Accept", then "Accept and buy". Google Play Store will process your payment information
Step 7. Wait for the application to be downloaded to the Galaxy S3
The download status will be displayed in the notification bar at the top of the screen. Once the download is complete, the app will be displayed on the Home screen.
Method 2 of 3: Download APK File
Step 1. Press the Menu button and select “Settings”
Step 2. Click on "Security", then put a check mark next to "Unknown sources"
This option allows you to download and install applications from sources other than the Google Play Store.
Step 3. Navigate the website highlighting the.apk file you wish to download to your Galaxy S3
Alternatively, you can go directly to the app developer's website, or browse one or more app collection sites, such as Samsung Apps, Apps APK or Android APK Cracked.
Step 4. Select the option to download the.apk file for the application you want to install on the Galaxy S3
The download status will be displayed in the notification bar at the top of the screen.
Step 5. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification bar and tap the.apk file you downloaded

Method 3 of 3: Manage App Installation Problems
Step 1. If the app installation process freezes or takes a relatively long time, restart the Galaxy S3
This can help resolve internet connectivity issues or device malfunctions.
Step 2. Clear the web browser cache on your Android and also the Google Play Store if the app download fails
In some cases, a full cache can use the memory resources needed to install some applications.
Step 3. Try to force close all applications on your device if no more can be downloaded
Some applications running in the background can interfere with being able to add others.
- Tap the Menu and select "Settings".
- Tap "Applications", then "Manage applications".
- Tap the "All" tab, then tap on an app running in the background.
- Tap "Force Close" and repeat the process for each open application.
Step 4. Restore the Galaxy S3 to factory settings if installing an.apk file or Google Play Store app causes problems with the device
This reset will return the device to its original factory settings, and can correct software problems caused by the installation of third party applications.
