This wikiHow teaches you how to delete a pin placed on Google Maps using an iPhone or iPad.
Steps
Step 1. Open Google Maps on your iPhone or iPad
The icon looks like a "G" and a red pin on a map. It is usually found on one of the home screens.
Step 2. Search for a location to insert the placeholder
Before you can remove it, you need to place one on the map. Drag the map to where you want to insert the pin, or use the search bar at the top of the screen to enter the name or address of a place.
Step 3. Zoom in
Place two fingers on the spot, then distance them by dragging them on the screen. This will enlarge the map and you can place the pin in the right place.
Step 4. Touch and hold the place
The placeholder will then appear at the selected point.
Step 5. X
It is located in the box at the top of the screen, next to the address of the place. The pin will be removed from the map.
