Steps
Step 1. Launch the iPhone Settings app
Tap the gray gear icon located on the Home of the device (in some cases it may be stored in the "Utilities" folder).
Step 2. Scroll through the list that appeared to the third section of the "Settings" menu, then select the Screen and brightness item
Step 3. Tap the Auto Lock option
Step 4. Review the options available
You can configure your device to automatically lock after a certain amount of time of inactivity. Here is the list of available options:
- 30 seconds;
- 1 minute;
- 2 minutes;
- 3 minutes;
- 4 minutes;
- 5 minutes;
- Never.
Step 5. Select the option you prefer
At this point the device should automatically lock after the indicated idle time interval has elapsed.
Advice
- By setting the screen to lock automatically after only 1-2 minutes of inactivity you will immediately notice a noticeable increase in the battery life of the device.
- If you are using the device's power saving mode, you will not be able to change the duration of the automatic screen lock. To be able to follow the procedure described in the article, you must first deactivate the power saving mode.
