This wikiHow teaches you how to change the title, description, tags, and privacy settings of one of your videos using an iPhone or iPad. You'll also learn how to cut and add effects to movies you haven't uploaded yet.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Change Titles, Descriptions, Tags and Privacy
Step 1. Open YouTube on your iPhone or iPad
The icon is represented by a red rectangle containing a white triangle. It is usually found on the home screen.
Step 2. Tap Collection in the bottom right corner
Step 3. Tap My Videos at the top of the screen
Step 4. Search for the video you want to edit
If you've uploaded a lot of them, it might be hard to find. Type some keywords in the search bar at the top of the screen to shorten the list.
Step 5. Tap ⁝ next to the video title
A menu will open.
Step 6. Tap Edit
This option is located more or less in the center of the menu.
Step 7. Edit the title and description
These are the first two fields at the top of the section titled "Add Details".
Step 8. Change your privacy settings
Tap the setting currently selected in the "Privacy" section to open a drop-down menu, then tap the configuration you prefer.
Step 9. Edit the tags
Type the tags in the box of the same name, which is located towards the bottom of the screen.
Step 10. Tap Save in the top right corner
The settings will be updated immediately.
Method 2 of 2: Edit New Videos Before Uploading
Step 1. Open YouTube on your iPhone or iPad
The icon is represented by a red rectangle with a white triangle inside. It is usually found on the home screen.
- If you haven't uploaded the video yet, you can shorten it or add music and filters.
- If the video has already been uploaded, you can only change the title, description, tags, and privacy settings.
Step 2. Tap the camera icon
It is located at the top of the screen, towards the center.
If this is your first time using this feature, you may need to authorize the app to access your videos
Step 3. Select the video you want to edit
If you prefer to register a new one, tap "Register" to create it.
Step 4. Cut the video
Use this feature if you want to cut parts at the beginning and / or end of the movie. That's how:
- Tap the scissors icon in the lower left corner of the screen to open this feature;
- Drag the left slider to the position where you want the video to start;
- Drag the right slider to the position where you want the video to end;
- Tap the video to see the preview;
- Tap "Next" to save the video.
Step 5. Add filters and effects
You can select one from the built-in ones to give your video an extra touch.
- Tap the magic wand icon at the bottom of the screen (more or less in the middle);
- Swipe left to see the available filters until you find one you like;
- Tap the filter to apply it;
- Tap the video to see a preview;
- Tap "Next" to save the video.
Step 6. Add some background music
This option allows you to add a song from your mobile or tablet to create the video soundtrack.
- Tap the music note in the bottom right corner of the screen;
- Touch the "+" symbol;
- Tap the song you want to add;
- Tap the video to see a preview;
- Tap "Next" to save the video.
Step 7. Add a title and description
The title of the video goes in the first field, the description in the second.
Step 8. Select your privacy settings
Tap the option currently selected in the section titled "Privacy" to open a drop-down menu, then choose from "Public", "Unlisted" or "Private".
Step 9. Add tags, which are keywords that can help people find your video
Type each tag in the box at the bottom of the screen.
Step 10. Tap Upload in the top right corner
The video will be uploaded to your channel. The duration of the upload depends on the size of the video.
