This article explains how to report a Telegram user for harassment, spam or other offensive content through an Android device. Since there is no built-in tool for reporting a single user, you will need to find their username and then email the Telegram team specifically dedicated to handling abuse.
Steps
Step 1. Open Telegram on your device
The icon is a white paper airplane on a blue background. It is usually found on the Home screen or in the application list.
Step 2. Tap the message received from the user who has behaved improperly
If he has behaved improperly in a group rather than in a private conversation, open the chat in question.
Step 3. Tap the user's avatar
If it's a private message, you can find it in the top left corner. If it's a group, look for it on the left of one of the messages he left. This will open the user's profile.
Step 4. Press and hold the username
It is located in the "Username" box (at the top of the screen) and is preceded by the "@" symbol. A pop-up menu will appear.
Step 5. Click on Copy
The username will be copied to the device clipboard.
Step 6. Open the email application you usually use
The complaint can be made using any email application you have installed on the device, such as Gmail or Outlook.
Step 7. Enter the address [email protected] in the recipient field
Step 8. Write a message describing the event
The description should be thorough so that the team has all the information they need to take action.
It can be helpful to take a screenshot of the insulting message and attach it to the email
Step 9. Paste the username into the message
To do this, tap and hold an empty space within the message, then tap "Paste" when this option appears.
Step 10. Tap the "Submit" button
It is usually found in the lower right corner of the email application. If the Telegram team believes that the behavior of the user in question has violated the terms of service, they will intervene accordingly.
