Using the Kik instant messaging application, you can sometimes find that people can be really annoying. If you wish, however, you can block those who are bothering you to stop receiving their messages and continue using the application without further hassle. Blocked users will not receive any notification about it and, at any time, you can decide to unblock them.
Steps
Step 1. Tap the gear icon
It is located in the upper left corner of the application interface.
Step 2. Tap the "Chat Settings" option
If you are using a Windows Phone or Blackberry, choose "Privacy".
Step 3. Select the "Block List" option
A list of all currently blocked users will be displayed.
Step 4. Tap the "+" icon to add a new user to the list
The list of your contacts will be displayed from which you can select all the people you want to block. If the user you are looking for is not present in the list that appears, you can perform a search using their first name or username. After completing the search, select it from the list of results that appeared.
Step 5. Confirm your willingness to block this user
You will be asked to confirm your action; by accepting, the selected user will be blocked.
- The person in question will not receive any notification. Its messages sent to your user will be reported as delivered but unread, although you will not receive any.
- Blocking a user does not delete your conversations from their device. Blocked users will still be able to view your current profile picture and any changes to it.
- Note that a blocked user from your own group will be able to read your messages.
Step 6. Unblock a locked out user
You can unblock a user quickly and easily by acting on the blocked people list.
- Select the "Block List" option from the "Chat Settings" menu.
- Tap the name of the user you want to unblock.
- Press the "Unlock" button. Also in this case the user in question will not receive any type of notification.
