This article explains how to block a contact from being able to send you messages on Telegram using a device with an Android operating system.
Steps
Step 1. Open the Telegram application on your Android device
The icon looks like a white paper airplane in a blue circle. You can find it in the application menu.
Step 2. Click on the icon that represents three horizontal lines
This button is located in the upper left corner of the conversation list. Allows you to open the menu panel on the left side.
If a chat that you were viewing previously opens, press the button to go back, in order to reopen the list of conversations
Step 3. Select Contacts on the menu
The list of all your contacts will be opened.
Step 4. Select the contact you want to block
Find the contact you want to block in the list and click on their name. This will open a private conversation with the user in question.
If you want to search for a contact in the list, click on the icon that looks like a white magnifying glass. It is located in the upper right corner
Step 5. Tap on the contact's name or profile picture
Look for the contact's name and profile photo at the top of the conversation, then tap on the name or picture to open the page dedicated to their personal data.
Step 6. Click on the icon with three dots
This button is located in the upper right corner of the page dedicated to the contact's personal data. Allows you to open a drop-down menu.
Step 7. Select Block User on the menu
You will need to confirm the operation in a new pop-up.
Step 8. Click Ok in the pop-up
This will confirm the operation and the contact will be blocked. He will no longer be able to send you private messages within the chat.
