Which title is as glamorous in high school as prom queen? What other title is so highly coveted And allows you to wear a tiara? Where to register ?! The competition will be fierce and the electoral campaign very difficult, but if you put all your effort into it, the title and the tiara could become yours.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Being a Papable Candidate
Step 1. Make friends with as many people as possible
What you need to become a queen are the votes. If people don't know you and they don't like you, they will have no reason to vote for you. In the months (years, if there is still time) before prom, try to get to know all your classmates, not just the popular kids. Each person is worth one vote, regardless of how popular they are in school.
- While it's important that they know who you are, they like you even more. Be a real person. Work hard to show them what a great person you are and try to be really. These friendships will last much longer than your prom queen career.
- Don't turn your back on these people once you get the vote. You will get a bad reputation once the race is over.
Step 2. Take part in different activities
Do various extra-curricular activities to have the opportunity to meet people, find common interests with others and show the whole school that you are a balanced and talented person. To be a winning candidate for the title of queen, you must be both an athlete and an artist. It wouldn't hurt if you joined an environmental protection association as well.
Sometimes the faculty of the school can decisively influence the nominations for the title of queen (yes, even in high school the votes are rigged, sometimes). More they they will believe in you, the more likely you are to pass the selection process.
Step 3. Be a good example for your peers
Many schools require you to have good grades, actively participate in school activities, and be a model student that others can imitate, in order to become prom queen. Not only is their advice, but a necessary prerequisite. Am I like that at your school too? If you're not sure, now is the time to find out!
By doing this, you will automatically be considered a candidate for the title of queen. After all, a queen's job is to lead her people, right? Show the whole school that you are a good leader and they will be more likely to vote for you
Step 4. Stay out of trouble
The worst thing that could happen to you before prom night is getting yourself in trouble at school. If they were to suspend you for any reason (low grades or misconduct), the odds are they wouldn't allow you to take part in the competition, even if they gave you as a likely winner. Don't shoot yourself in the foot and make sure you behave in an exemplary manner. A true queen should have it in all cases anyway.
Whether it's copying an assignment, climbing the roof of the school, or drawing a caricature of a professor you hate, don't do it. Right now you need everyone's support. Get them on your side, including teachers
Part 2 of 3: Get to Know
Step 1. Join the prom committee
Do you remember when we said that the faculty decides who to admit to the selections? The dance committee, on the other hand, has the ability to influence students' grades. They are the ones who have to remind everyone to vote and tell them what kind of person they should vote for. By emphasizing the qualities you possess, you may indirectly remind some people that you are the ideal candidate to fill the role.
Plus, you would show everyone how much this means to you. When they realize the effort you are making, they will be more inclined to vote for you
Step 2. Get nominated
In most schools, someone has to name you and then someone else has to go along with the nomination. This means that you will need at least two people who believe in you enough to put their faces to make sure your name is on the list. Who are the people you can rely on the most? Ask your best friends if they can do it for you and try to repay them afterwards!
In some cases, it may be necessary to exchange one appointment for another. This is more than legitimate! Think of it as a friendly competition that will make the game more fun and engaging
Step 3. Start an election campaign
A good election campaign is what is needed more than anything else, especially in big schools. It's like advertising a business; you have to be found to get new customers; so, make yourself known. Set up a stand in the canteen, post flyers on bulletin boards, and even ask for your message to be broadcast over the speakers. The more people know who you are, the more chances you will have to promote your queen brand.
Make sure you have permission to proceed before embarking on any type of promotion. Some schools have strict regulations on what kind of flyers they admit on their bulletin boards, where they can be posted and when
Step 4. Get the news all over the place
Do you remember all those friends you have? Now is the time to ask for their help to make your name echo even in the darkest and deepest dungeons of the school. Ask Giovanna from the Green Thumb association to post your flyers even where she works after school. Ask Paolo to distribute the sweets made by you to the whole soccer team. Leave no stone unturned.
This is a good time to rally any new friends you've made over the past few months. Make sure they have t-shirts with your name written on them, bracelets, key rings and something you cooked with your own hands (which never hurts)
Step 5. Dress appropriately
Last but not least, people have a clear idea in their heads of what a queen looks like. Long story short, it should be attractive, smell good, and be radiant. Here are some ideas to get into the part:
- Take a shower every day and find a scent that distinguishes you, worthy of a queen.
- Be careful in matching your fashion clothes and use makeup that matches your outfits.
- Keep your hair clean and style it in a sophisticated way. Any style will do as long as your hair is well washed and looks good.
Part 3 of 3: Make the Big Day Perfect
Step 1. Wear a perfect suit
A queen would be nothing without the perfect dress to wear to prom. In an ideal world, this dress should fit your body perfectly, match your complexion And not be worn by anyone else. It doesn't have to be very expensive; as long as it fits you perfectly.
- Consider a dress in a bright color. You will feel like the spotlight is all on you knowing that everyone is watching you.
- Choose a model that highlights your curves. The trick is to choose a dress that emphasizes your strengths and hides imperfections.
- Choose a dress that fits your personality. Who says a long train is out of style?
Step 2. Style your hair and make up to perfection
They will take more photos of you today than they have taken you during the entire school year, so try to have perfect hair and makeup for souvenir photos. Also, bring some hairspray with you, as it will be a very long night.
As for makeup, you don't have to be ashamed to do your own makeup. After all, you are likely to know what looks good on you more than any other person. Use a little darker makeup than you usually use for this evening. A smokey eye effect with a gentle lip gloss is ideal for a prom
Step 3. Enjoy
It's the night you've been waiting for. Instead of spending the hours separating you from dancing being so nervous that you have to go to the bathroom all the time, try to think about the fact that this is going to be one of the most exciting nights of the year. You will have a great time, don't forget! All your friends will be there, good food and great music. What else would you like?
Step 4. Prove yourself worthy of the role of queen
If you win, remember that you are now the queen; a queen is kind, gracious and humble. Show everyone that you are grateful to them for voting for you and that this means everything to you. In other words, show everyone that they voted for the right person!
Don't hesitate to personally thank those people who voted for you if you know who they are. They will know they have made the right choice if you show them that you are a real and genuine person
Step 5. Be nice, win or lose
Regardless of the outcome, it is important that you smile; after all, this is your dance! You should be happy just being there, wearing a nice dress and dancing with your friends. You will remember this day forever, whether you win the title or not, and you will remember it with nostalgia.
