If you are about to take a flight by plane, whether you are passing through your country or traveling the world, here are some tips for packing hand luggage.
Steps
Step 1. Choose your suitcase
This should be light, big enough to carry everything you need and nice to look at. Try not to buy a suitcase that is too flashy / expensive as they could steal it from you. If you are going on a long flight, try to bring a backpack, as with a bag or shoulder strap everything will feel heavier.
Step 2. Think about the items you will need
Some that are always useful are, for example:
- iPod / iPhone. Download new pod casts (there are free ones on the internet) or new songs or a whole CD from iTunes.
- Books / magazines. If you like books, bring something to read with you, such as your favorite novel. If you want magazines, bring a bunch of them with your favorite gossip news, tips, and anything else you like.
- Earphones. These are vital. Try to bring two pairs, in case one of them stops working (sometimes it does, and airplane headphones aren't good at all).
- Dvd player / portable console. If the airplane has subscription TV, then the DVD player will not be needed. Having a console, on the other hand, is always handy - just make sure it's charged.
- A diary. If you've already started one, take it with you. Otherwise, this is the perfect time to start one on the plane! This way you will have a report of your trip.
Step 3. Wear something comfortable
You certainly don't want to get stuck on an 18-hour flight in a mini skirt or graduation dress (it's possible). Wear something nice and comfortable, choose the best of both categories. Wear baggy jeans (not tight ones!), A top or t-shirt and a light jacket, as it can get cold in flight. If you are going on a long or night flight, you should consider bringing an extra pair of comfortable clothes like baggy sweatpants and an extra shirt. Unless your night dresses are warm enough or appropriate, these dresses will be the best choice.
Step 4. It is best not to tie your hair in a ponytail, as it can be very annoying if you cannot sit comfortably during the flight
Leave your hair loose or put it in braids.
Step 5. Try not to wear accessories
Do not wear long or dangling earrings. Put on the button ones or, even better, don't put any on. Necklaces and bracelets will get in your way and belts can be uncomfortable, especially along with the plane seat belt. Try to limit yourself to just one watch (with the time set for the place you're going) and stud earrings if you have pierced ears.
Step 6. Bring other items of various types
For example, you might include sleeping pills (medical or herbal remedies) and a small pillow. You could also bring a blanket if the smell of airplane ones bothers you.
Step 7. Leave the stuffed animals at home, as you may lose them
If you bring one, leave it in your bag.
Step 8. Bring some snacks
The food on the airplane might seem disgusting, and sometimes they won't offer you the meal. Bring the miniature cereal boxes or snack mixes. If you're on a diet, or want something healthier, try granola, or bring some of your favorite unsweetened grains in a plastic bag. Also, if you want, you can order a special low-sodium meal on the airplane for vegetarians or diabetics. They are usually served faster and taste better.
Step 9. Be practical and light
If, for various reasons, you are traveling with other people and, for example, your suitcase is too full, you should bring another small suitcase with you. Try to keep it light and easy to carry. You don't want to start sweating badly as soon as you get off the plane.
Step 10. Bring wet wipes, deodorant, brush or comb
Advice
- Bring a camera to take pictures, you never know when you want to take one. Plus, it's also a pastime.
- Bring a jacket in case you're cold.
- Make sure you have all medicines, passports and tickets, unless your parents brought them for you.
- Bring something fun to do to keep you entertained.
- Bring a brush, so when you get to your destination, you will look good.
- Bring some cash so that if you get hungry you can buy some snacks. Also, on some flights, it is possible to rent video game consoles!
- About 30 minutes before landing, freshen up, brush your hair and brush your teeth, and make sure you are as comfortable as possible in what you are wearing.
- Bring a small pillow! You will probably sleep on the plane and otherwise, when you wake up, your neck will hurt.
- Bring sanitary pads / tampons! It never hurts to be prepared.
- bring a small stuffed toy if you really want to take one with you. It should fit in your bag and be easy to carry.
- If you see other guys your age, don't be afraid to say "hi"! They are probably as bored as you are.
- If you are lucky enough to fly first or business class, try to be quiet, as there will be mostly adults.
- Bring some makeup for some tweaks.
- Bring a blanket and pillow.
- Bring a good history book to the place you are going and tools to use to learn something once you are there.
- The seats on some airplanes can be cold and uncomfortable.
Warnings
- Take care of your electronic devices. Charge them until the battery is 100% the day before departure and don't use them before the airplane takes off. However, Not leave them on charge for the whole day, as this may reverse the process and make the battery last for a shorter time. If you have a laptop, it would be better if you have a wifi card so that you can also work on the plane. Some airline companies may not let you, but you can try!
- Don't make jokes involving bombs, terrorism, guns, or other types of violence. They could be taken very seriously!
