You've packed your toothpaste, moisturizer, and any other liquids and gels you need in your hand luggage. At check-in, however, you discover that you cannot take them with you! Here's how to prevent this from happening.
Steps
Step 1. Buy a transparent plastic bag with zip closure (you can find them at IKEA for example)
Step 2. You can carry a maximum of one liter with you, distributed in 10 bottles of 100 ml
Step 3. Insert the packages into the envelope
Step 4. Close it and put it in your hand luggage
Step 5. Before check-in, take it out of the suitcase and place it on the tray
Step 6. Put your electronic devices on the tray as well
Step 7. Pick up the bag and other items and put them back in your hand luggage
Advice
- Get containers with a capacity of no more than 100ml.
- Each traveler can take one piece of luggage with him. If you are traveling with a child, they can also have theirs.
- Liquid medicines often are subject to different norms. Call the airline or ask at the airport.
- Keep the sample packs they give you at the perfumery and use them when you travel.
- When you shop, take a look at the products on special offer. Many brands give away a travel-size package along with the product for sale.
- Free a drawer or buy a basket, where you will put the shampoo packs of the hotels, the samples of the perfumery and everything that could be useful for traveling. Plus, you'll need them in case you have unexpected guests.

- These tips are good for most destinations, including the United States. If you have any doubts, ask at the airport or the airline.
- Read the rules before packing, as they can sometimes change. After reading them, check the contents of your luggage to avoid any inconvenience.
- Keep liquid products and gels in their original packaging or buy them in travel size. Sometimes, transferring them into generic containers could make the check-in staff suspicious. If you travel frequently, buy travel-sized supplies of your favorite products.
