Are you tired of seeing that your eyeliner starts to run after a couple of hours or never stays in place, especially if you have oily eyelid skin? Well, look no further. Follow these tips to make your eyeliner last until the evening.
Steps
Step 1. Start by applying an eyeshadow base coat all over the eye area
If you use concealer, apply it to the dark circles area.
Step 2. Apply your favorite cream, gel, pencil or liquid eyeliner
Step 3. Using an eyeliner brush, apply an eyeshadow of the same color as the eyeliner, ie black on black etc
Pick up some with the brush, shake it to remove excess and apply it exactly above the line drawn with the eyeliner, trying not to go further. Finally, apply an eyeliner fixer if you really want your makeup line to last all day!
Step 4. If you use colored eyeshadow on your eyelid, apply it now
Step 5. Apply concealer under the eyes if you need it
Remove any traces of eyeshadow powder that have fallen on your cheeks and apply a concealer to cover dark circles. When you use the eyeshadow base also on the area under the eyes, you will notice that the concealer does not accumulate in the creases of the eye and lasts longer.
Step 6. If you use mascara, apply it last
If you have oily eyelid skin, waterproof mascara may help you avoid smudging throughout the day. Often, however, this type of mascara detaches from the lashes forming scales that, falling on the eye, will make you look like a raccoon. A classic mascara does not come off in flakes, but it can melt and stain your eyelids or cheeks. Try both types and see which one works best on you until the end of the day. And finally you are ready, your makeup should last much longer now!
Advice
- Use the business card trick: Cut a piece of construction paper or business card into a semicircle shape and place it behind your lashes as you apply mascara. This way you won't get stained with the brush.
- Put your pencil eyeliner under a stream of hot water to soften the tip before applying it. With this operation, you will avoid scratching yourself and will be able to draw a smoother stroke.
- Try to pack make-up and a hand mirror in your bag so you can touch up your make-up throughout the day.
Warnings
- Do not apply eyeliner or eyeshadow inside the eyes.
- Don't lend your makeup to anyone, especially eyeliner and mascara. Eye infections are highly contagious. Just because a friend of yours seems to have no infection doesn't mean her eyes are 100% healthy and she can't infect you.
- If you use a pencil eyeliner, sharpen the tip before each use to remove any bacteria. Make sure you draw a line on the (clean) back of your hand first, so the tip won't be too sharp.
