A silicone gun can help if there is a need to seal cracks in windows, in the bathtub or in other areas with interstices inside the house. It can be frustrating if you don't know exactly how to use the gun. On the other hand, it is easier and more convenient if you already know how to do it.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Insert the Silicone Tube into the Gun
Step 1. Locate the release mechanism on the back of the gun
Press it with your thumb.
Step 2. Pull the plunger back
Step 3. Insert the silicone tube into the gun
Make sure that the nozzle is in the front of the gun.
Step 4. Push the plunger back into place
Method 2 of 2: Use the silicone gun where needed
Step 1. Create a hole in the nozzle of the size you need
Step 2. With the help of a pin, make a hole in the seal
Step 3. Hold the gun over the gap you intend to seal
Try to keep an angle of 45 degrees.
Step 4. Pull the trigger as you move the gun along the gap you are sealing
Once you are no longer able to pull the trigger, release it and start over.
Advice
- The speed with which you move the gun while pulling the trigger will determine the amount of silicone dispensed; the faster you pull the trigger, the greater the amount released.
- You can smear the silicone with your finger if you have applied too much of it in a specific place.
