Texas Hold'em is one of the most popular games played today. This guide is a great tool for starting or improving your game and making yourself a winner.
Steps
Step 1. There are two possible approaches to the first step:
do not play bad hands and limit your play to pairs served, aces together with a card of the same suit, a pair A-4, A-5, an unpaired Ace-King or two connectors (consecutive cards of the same suit). For now, any other hand is not worth playing and you should just throw them. A lot of patience is needed for this!
Step 2. Otherwise, you can try not to fold before you see the flop, unless someone bets too big and you have ridiculous cards like a 2 and a 6
As you pass, of course, you will never know what would become of those cards; they could lead to a straight, two pair, three of a kind or even a full house. You saw the pairs on the previous flop, it only takes one of the pairs and one of any other kind. You might be surprised at what you can do with a 2 and a 6.
Step 3. Be aggressive:
you have been waiting for a strong hand to come, now is the time to hit your opponents. Raise before the flop and if you are going to "stomp" keep firing your shots, but without losing your mind, often only one pair doesn't win big pots. When you play aggressively, you force your opponents to get defensive. You also eliminate many opponents from the game, making it less likely that someone will have a better hand than yours.
Step 4. Take advantage of your position:
when you are one of the last to bet, you have a considerable advantage. This is very useful against predictable players who check (stay in the game without betting) with poor hands and raise with strong hands. You can also play modest pairs and bet when they fold your hand without betting. You can also re-raise to players who bluff too much.
Step 5. Identify your opponent's game:
if you are up against a player who does not let go of excessive bets if unsure of his hand, you could loosen up a little and play lighter, starting with hands like K-J, untied "bad aces" like A-3 or similar. If you raise against you, you already know what to do, and you shouldn't be playing low-value hands.

Step 6. Low Value Served Couples:

Step 7. Straight and flush:
Before calling a flush bet, make sure you have the right odds of winning the pot. If there is $ 100 in the pot and your opponent raises another $ 100, it would be a big mistake to chase the flush or straight. In this case, you may, in the long run, lose more than you are winning. On the other hand, if you bet $ 10 you have a probability of 10/1 for your bet and you should chase the score you have set. Keep in mind that a capable opponent will not allow you to see the next card that easily unless they have the solution to beat your game.
Step 8. Bluff:
bluffing is an art that can only be learned over time. You should start by learning the semi-bluff. Betting with a low score, but one that could improve if the right cards hit, is a method that can bear fruit. You have two ways to win. Either your opponent folds, or you get the best score (usually a flush or straight). This tactic works best if you are in a position that allows you to place your bet last, or others fold your hand.
Step 9. Read:
understanding an opponent's mentality is a fundamental component in poker. Practice interpreting the type of play of your opponents so that you can "frame" them briefly… what hands they play and how they play them. Remember that a "tight player" (type of player who plays few hands, but always strong) does not always remain so and vice versa. You will soon realize that you have the ability to narrow down the number of really tough opponents.
Advice
- Every hand you win and especially the ones you lose are valuable lessons, which in some cases you may have paid dearly for. If you've lost it, you might as well take advantage of it. Learn from your mistakes.
- Aggression is the real game, but you must have a strong hand to be able to afford it.
- Read up on poker. There is nothing like a good book to improve your game.
- There are numerous ways to win in poker. Good players always adapt to the game they are playing.
- There are tons of different approaches to playing Texas Hold'Em. Experiment and find the one that works best for you, then practice to refine your strategy.
- Practice online or with friends, play for whatever you all agree on, if anyone is unwilling to play for money (be it $ 1 or $ 1000) then play for a token prize (like "The Universe Champion"). If you're only playing for the money, it's not worth it.
Warnings
- If the game credits are too high for you, no matter how good you are, you always take risks. Only play games that you can afford to lose.

- As with all card games, gambling is always very risky; always remember that when you have already played everything you had, you have no way of getting it back. Be smart and "responsible" when betting.
