It has happened to us all. Whether it's a vocabulary checker or a standard assignment, here you can find an easy and effective way to memorize a word in a minute.
Steps
Step 1. Prepare a word list (if you already have flashcards go directly to point 3)
Prepare definitions of the words you understand.
Step 2. Print the list
It is always best to have it on hand, sometimes you could even write notes if you want.
Step 3. Search for an image
Choose an unfamiliar word. For example "retrograde". What does it make you think of as soon as you hear this word? "retroGRADE", to the degrees of a thermometer, for example.
Step 4. Relate and fix
Retrograde means "That moves backwards, or in the opposite direction to the normal one". As in the previous step, we relate "retroGRADE" to the degrees of a thermometer, imagine that you have to drop the degrees to "move backward". Correlating things doesn't have to be perfect, as long as it makes some sense to "connect the dots".
Step 5. Make the foundation solid
Look for example sentences. And then make one that's related to you - it's an important step. Make connections by looking around, taking inspiration from everyday situations that make you formulate a simple sentence and that can make you remember the meaning of the word.
Step 6. Review
After learning a few words (brain energy is your limit), stop. Do something else, study math. Resume and revise the words one more time; if you forget, use the above method again. You should be able to memorize them within three times you do this. Good luck!
Method 1 of 1: Use music
Step 1. Make a list of the words you need to remember
Write a little meaning for each of them.
Step 2. Repeat or chant the words you wrote and their meaning
If you prefer, you can also rap with words (and meanings). If you don't like or don't want to sing or rap, just record yourself by saying the words with the melody in the background.
Step 3. Sing, repeat or play the song or melody
While doing daily chores or while traveling, sing or repeat the song or melody over and over. If you have recorded the song or melody (singing / saying the words over and over again), play it while you are resting, or even while you sleep. Loop the melody, rap or song.
Step 4. Keep doing this until you feel that the words and their meanings are fixed in your memory
Music is a great aid to memory, which is why it is so easy to remember pop songs.
Advice
- Try to use words in daily life with the people you see yourself with every day. They will make you safer.
- Help yourself with google images to find things that can inspire you.
- Read / write the words continuously enunciating each letter.
