Pokèmon X and Y players, are you looking for a new challenge to spice up your gaming experience? Try the Wonderlocke challenge. This challenge is similar to the Nuzlocke challenge, except that you can only use pokémon obtained through Wonder Trade.
Steps
Step 1. Open a new file on your Pokémon X or Y
Step 2. Get to the point where you get your starting Pokémon, Pokédexes, and Poké Balls
Step 3. Catch Pokémon, following the normal Nuzlocke rule of only one Pokémon per area
Once you have caught at least one Pokémon, deposit your starting Pokémon on the PC and exchange it for a Pokémon obtained with Wonder Trade.
Step 4. Whenever you catch a Pokémon, trade it with Wonder Trade
Step 5. Continue the game as normal, using only Pokémon obtained with Wonder Trade
As in the Nuzlocke challenge, if a Pokémon faints, you will have to free it or permanently deposit it in a folder on your PC.
Advice
- You can add your own optional rules to make the game more difficult, such as healing Pokémon only through items or only through Pokémon Center, set the "Battle Style" to "Set" so that your opponent is able to throw his next Pokémon before you can change yours, or set a level limit whereby your Pokémon cannot be higher level than the strongest Pokémon of the next Gym Leader / Champion
- You need the Internet for the Wonder Trade feature.
- You cannot use Pokémon that are 10 levels higher than the Pokémon you used for trading.
- Discard any Pokémon that refuses to obey you.
