This article explains how to hide a user's name from your best friends list on Snapchat. To do this you will first have to lock it and then unlock it.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Block a Friend
Step 1. Open Snapchat
The icon is represented by a yellow box with a white ghost inside it.
Step 2. Swipe your finger down
Opening the application will activate the camera. Swipe down to open the Snapchat Home screen.
Step 3. Tap My Friends
This option is located next to a notebook icon at the bottom of the screen. Pressing it will open your friends list.
Step 4. Press a friend's name
This will open your profile page.
Step 5. Press the gear icon
This button is located in the upper right corner of the profile page.
Step 6. Pajama Locks
This button will allow you to block the selected friend.
Step 7. Press Lock again
It's a purple button. Your friend will be blocked.
Step 8. Select More when asked why you want to block your friend
Some of the available options could have serious consequences and are best avoided when you decide to block someone for the purpose of removing them from your friends list. At this point your friend will disappear from the list.
Part 2 of 2: Unlock a Friend
Step 1. Press the button to go back
It is located in the upper left corner of the screen. You will be taken back to the Snapchat Home screen.
Step 2. Press the gear icon
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen and allows you to open the settings menu.
Step 3. Scroll down and tap Blocked
This option is located in the "Account Actions" section, near the bottom of the menu. It will allow you to open the list of all the friends you have blocked.
Step 4. Tap the X button next to your friend's name
Search for the user you blocked previously and press this button to unblock him.
Step 5. Tap Yes
This purple button will allow you to unlock your friend. After this, it will no longer appear in your best friends list.
