This article shows you how to download and install the Facebook app on your iPhone.
Steps
Step 1. Access the iPhone App Store by tapping the icon
It features a stylized white "A" set against a blue background.
Step 2. Go to the Search tab
It features a magnifying glass icon and is located in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Tap the search bar
It is located at the top of the screen. Inside is the wording "App Store".
Step 4. Type the keyword facebook into the search bar
This is the name of the official Facebook application for iOS devices distributed through the App Store.
Step 5. Press the Search button
It is blue in color and is located in the lower right corner of the virtual keyboard of the iPhone. This will start the search for the Facebook application within the App Store. It should appear as the first item in the results list.
Step 6. Press the Get button
It is located to the right of the Facebook app icon with a white "f" on a blue background. A new menu will appear.

If you have previously downloaded the Facebook app and then uninstalled it, you will find the button Download characterized by the icon

- If the button is present You open instead of that Get, it means that the Facebook app is already installed on the device.
Step 7. Enter your Apple ID login password or use the Touch ID feature
If the iPhone you are using has a Touch ID button and the feature is enabled for identification within the App Store, you will be asked to authenticate by scanning your fingerprint. Otherwise you will need to use the standard authentication method, which involves typing in your Apple ID login password. At this point the Facebook application will be downloaded and installed on the device.
- If you are using cellular data connection or a slow Wi-Fi network, the application installation may take several minutes.
- If you have previously downloaded the Facebook app, you may not need to authenticate by entering your Apple ID password or using Touch ID.
Step 8. Wait for the download to finish
As soon as the Facebook app has been downloaded to the device, the circular progress bar on the right side of the screen will be replaced with the button You open.
At this point you can start the Facebook app by pressing the button You open placed on the App Store page or by tapping the relative icon that appeared on the device's Home page.
Advice
- The procedure described in the article is also compatible with iPad and iPod Touch, but remember that the search bar of the App Store will be located in the upper right corner of the screen.
- At the end of the download and installation, start the Facebook app to have the possibility to enter your login credentials and to be able to start managing your social profile.
- If your iPhone model is no longer compatible with the Facebook application, you can access the social network using the desktop version of its website and the device's Safari browser.
