This article explains how to activate cellular data on an Android device and use your mobile operator's plan to connect to the internet.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the "Settings" Menu
Step 1. Open the "Settings" application on Android
Search and tap the icon
in the "Applications" menu to open the settings.

Alternatively, you can drag the notification bar from the top of the screen and tap the icon
Step 2. Look for the Data Network button in the "Settings" menu
This option is found in the section of the menu titled "Wireless & Networks" or "Networks & Connections".
- It could also be called "Mobile Data". The name varies depending on the Android version on the device.
- On some devices, you need to tap the "Data usage" menu to access this button.
Step 3. Swipe the Data Network button to activate it
In this way you will activate the data network on the Android device and you will be able to access the internet even in the absence of a Wi-Fi network.
Using mobile data can generate additional costs and charges if you haven't activated a plan with your mobile operator
Method 2 of 2: Using the "Quick Settings" panel
Step 1. Drag the notification bar down from the top of the screen
The "Quick Settings" panel will open, allowing you to customize the configuration of your phone.
If the notification center appears, swipe down again, or tap the menu button at the top right to see the various configuration options
Step 2. Look for the Data Network option in the panel
When this option is disabled, Android will need a Wi-Fi network or a cable connection to connect to the internet.
On some versions this button is called "Mobile Data" or "Cellular Data", but it can also have another similar name
Step 3. Tap the Data Network button
Once activated, the widget should turn blue. At this point the device will use the data network to connect to the internet.
- This option may also be called "Mobile Data" or "Cellular Data".
- In the panel you can also tap "Wi-Fi" to disable this button and disconnect from the wireless network.
