Do you want to give your story or your writing project a sad or tragic air? Are you dissatisfied with your ability to write nothing but happy ending stories? With practice and planning, it is possible to write a story capable of chilling and / or depressing even the most light-hearted readers.
Steps
Method 1 of 1: Write Your Story
Step 1. Get a track
List the events of the story and try to weave the plot. It's best to know what you're writing about, so you don't have to worry when trying to form words. As your character goes through tragic events, it must present itself in your mind with sharp images. Using your creativity, you will then form the words that describe those images.
Step 2. Wait for a rainy day
Once the raindrops start coming down, go outside for a walk. In this way, you can get a sense of gravity, a dramatic feeling, or an inspiration.
If you prefer not to get wet, bring an umbrella with you
Step 3. Read some sad literature
Sometimes, seeing how other authors have written their stories can help write yours. Don't be afraid to try their writing style, but make sure you're not plagiarizing.
Step 4. Get into the atmosphere
Listen to a very sad or depressing song. Often, the music will unlock a feeling within you that cannot come out any other way. You can also create a playlist of depressing and sad songs, so that you have a continuous listening cycle.
Step 5. Write in a place where you can be alone
Distractions can often distract attention from the writing of the story. A noisy and noisy environment, where you cannot concentrate, makes it harder to find words, and you will end up with frustration alone. A quiet room is what you need to reflect peacefully.
Step 6. Try to get a feel for what you are writing
If, for example, your main character is a terminal cancer patient, then go visit someone who has terminal cancer. If you can't find one, go online or search some magazines.
Step 7. Dim the lights when you write
It is advisable to avoid having a light source cloud the words in your mind. This will create a sad atmosphere in which you will feel truly depressed.
Step 8. Write as if you have absorbed all the sadness, desires, hatred, frustration and evil inside you, and turn all this into words
This can be immensely cathartic. Use a thesaurus if necessary to choose words that touch the heart.
Step 9. Use good punctuation
Put the period at the end of the sentences. If you're unsure about commas, get help from someone with an eagle's eye and the heart of a grammar Nazi. Don't abuse ellipses.
Step 10. If you are taking on all the sadness in the world, you will be laughed at beyond your understanding
This will affect your life. If you really want to save the world, give the world the resources to do so, ignore the ridicule and resentment of the world and write to the best of your ability.
