Steps
Part 1 of 4: Preparation
Step 1. Undress
Put dirty clothes in the laundry basket. Put your clean clothes or pajamas in a place where they don't get wet while you wash.
- Take off your glasses too. If you wear contact lenses, you can keep them while showering, being careful not to open your eyes under the jet of water.
- Also remove the watch, necklaces and / or any other accessory you usually wear.
Step 2. Run the water until it has reached a pleasant but not too hot temperature
Check the position of the dispenser and straighten it if it is not already pointing down. Check the water temperature. Compared to the fingers, the wrist has a greater sensitivity to feel the temperature, so use it to understand if the water is at a comfortable degree. When you are sure that the temperature is perfect, enter the shower with caution.
Consider taking a cold or cool shower, especially when the weather is hot and humid or after a very intense workout
Step 3. Carefully enter the shower once the temperature is perfect
If you enter too quickly, you risk slipping. It is therefore good to do it slowly.
Water Saving Tip:
consider entering just before the water reaches its ideal temperature, even if it is still cold. You can continue to adjust the temperature while you shower. It might save you some water. Just make sure it's not freezing or too hot to burn before you go inside.
Part 2 of 4: Cleaning
Step 1. Wet the whole body
Let the water flow over the entire surface of your body. Be careful that the hair is completely wet, like all the skin. First you will have to eliminate the dust and dirt placed on the surface while moistening the body with hot water favoring the relaxation of the muscles.
Step 2. Apply a small amount of shampoo to the scalp
Massage the shampoo all over your head, and make sure all your hair is soapy. Do not use too much shampoo, or the package will empty quickly and remove the beneficial oils naturally occurring on the scalp. Pour an amount the size of a coin into the palm of your hand, it will be enough.
Advise:
wash your hair every other day, as doing it too often can ruin it.
Step 3. Thoroughly rinse the shampoo and conditioner hair, making sure there are no foam residues that would remain in the hair even when it is dry
Make sure you have removed all traces of shampoo from your hair by wetting and squeezing it and then observe the color of the water that comes out. If you can see any shampoo residue in the water, keep rinsing them and repeat
Step 4. Apply the conditioner to your hair
After washing them carefully, using your favorite conditioner will allow you to have more beautiful, softer and healthier-looking hair. The conditioner does not create foam, distribute it from the roots to the ends until you feel a patina over the entire length of the hair. Read the instructions on the package of your conditioner - many will recommend letting the conditioner work for several minutes before rinsing it off. The balms with a leave-in formula, on the other hand, should only be applied after exiting the shower.
Some people prefer to use a product that combines shampoo and conditioner together, rather than running two separate applications
Step 5. Wash your face
Moisten the skin on your face and apply a small amount of facial cleanser or exfoliant with your fingers or a soft, damp cloth. Massage the product into your skin for at least 30 seconds, reaching your cheeks, nose, chin and forehead, and potentially even your neck and nape if you have acne in that area. Be careful so that the product does not come into contact with the eyes. Especially if you are using an acne product, let it sit for at least 30 seconds to allow it to penetrate your pores. Then rinse your face thoroughly with your hands or with the rinsed cloth.
You can replace the facial cleanser with regular soap. However, it will be better than not washing your face, but remember that using the wrong product for too long could dry or irritate the skin on your face
Step 6. Wash your body
Spread the soap or shower gel on the damp cloth, sponge or simply on your hands. Massage the whole body, starting from the neck and shoulders, and then go down in order. Be careful to wash your armpits and back. Wash your private parts last. Also remember to wash behind the ears, the back of the neck, and between the toes.
Step 7. Rinse off the soap
Move under the jet of water and scrub your body with your hands to get rid of persistent soap and permanently remove dirt. Run your hands through your hair and make sure it is completely rinsed off. If you have missed any area of your body, wash it now.
Part 3 of 4: Shaving and Cleaning the Teeth
Step 1. If you wish, you can shave your armpits and the legs.
Many women (and even some men) shave their armpit and leg hair, and say showering is the perfect time to accomplish this occasional task.
- Shaving your legs and armpits is common for girls and women in many countries, but you can be clean even without shaving. It is a personal decision; if you don't know what to do, talk to a woman you trust, and consider the customs of your culture.
- Moisten the skin of the legs and distribute the depilatory cream or foam.
- If you are using a razor, shave your legs from bottom to top, working against the grain. Start at the ankles and work your way up to the knees. Don't forget the hair on your toes.
- Shave slowly to avoid cutting yourself, especially in the knee area where it is easier to injure yourself.
- In the armpit area, distribute the foam and sweep the razor slowly up and down as the hair grows in both directions.
Step 2. Shave your face
Some men prefer to shave in the shower. In this case you will need a special mirror, designed not to fog up in the presence of water and steam. If you have one, shaving in the shower will allow you to enjoy hot water for longer and move more comfortably.
Step 3. If desired, shave the bikini area or shave the genitals.
Some women and some men take advantage of the shower to shorten or shave their bikini area and genitals. Be very careful and make sure your shower allows you to take a comfortable, well-lit position to clearly see what you are doing.
Step 4. Brush your teeth
It sounds strange, but brushing your teeth in the shower is very practical. You can brush your tongue too, and you don't have to worry about getting your clothes or hair dirty with toothpaste.
Part 4 of 4: Final Steps
Step 1. Make a final rinse
It is important that you make sure you do not have soap on your body or in your hair before proceeding to the next step.
Step 2. Turn off the water
Turn off the tap tightly, so as not to waste precious water. Get ready to get out of the shower, and collect all the items you brought inside.
Step 3. Get out of the shower
Move carefully as slipping on the bathroom floor could be dangerous.
Step 4. Dry with a towel
While standing on the mat, gently dry your hair, face, chest, abdomen, private parts, legs and feet with a towel. If you dry carefully, you should only have wet the towel in the end, not the floor. When wiping your face, do not rub it, so as not to irritate the skin.
Step 5. Apply hygiene products
Now is the perfect time to make good use of your deodorant, moisturizer, aftershave and hair styling products that need to be applied to damp hair. Basically, use all those products that you won't be able to apply after getting dressed and that are an integral part of your cleaning routine.
Step 6. Put on some clean clothes (or pajamas)
Start with clean underwear, then a shirt and then pants (or skirt). Now you are completely clean and ready to go to sleep or to face a new day with energy.
Advice
- You can use sugar to exfoliate dead skin cells from the body. Your skin will become soft and also take on a sweet taste.
- If you shaved in the shower, pat dry without rubbing to avoid skin irritation and injury.
- Be careful not to mess with the shampoo or conditioner from the shower.
- Use a rug or towel to get out of the shower; in this way you will avoid slipping and risking injury.
- Brush your hair. Humans shed a small amount daily, brushing them before entering the shower will prevent them from clogging your shower drain when they fall.
- If you worry about shampoo getting into your eyes when you rinse, keep a towel handy and wipe your face as soon as you've finished rinsing to make sure there is no residue left. Open your eyes carefully. Alternatively, keep your face facing up as you rinse your hair.
- If you don't want to wash your hair, wear a shower cap.
Warnings
- Do not use electrical appliances in the shower! This includes hair dryers, cell phones, radios, anything with an electric cord or a battery you don't have to never get into the shower.
- Closing the door guarantees privacy, but you should think that if you fall, no one will be able to help you quickly. If you live with people you trust, consider leaving it open.
- Get a rubber or sturdy plastic mat with suction cups at the bottom to make sure you don't slip on the wet shower tray and risk getting hurt. However, keep in mind that the mat can get dirty and mold on the bottom, so keep it clean and dry.
- Do not turn on the water without checking that there are no pets in the shower. Cats like to get in the shower, so look before turning the tap.
