This article explains how to unblock a Snapchat user you previously blocked. If you haven't blocked any Snapchat users, their name won't appear in the section of the app about the people you can unblock.
Steps
Step 1. Launch the Snapchat app by tapping the icon
It features a small stylized white ghost set against a yellow background. If you are already logged in with your account, the view taken by the main camera of the device will be displayed.
If you haven't logged in with your Snapchat account yet, press the button Log in and enter your username (or email address) and security password.
Step 2. Tap the profile icon
It features a Bitmoji and is located in the upper left corner of the screen.
If you don't use Snapchat's Bitmoji, the profile icon will feature a stylized human silhouette
Step 3. Tap the gear-shaped "Settings" icon
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Scroll down the list and select the Blocked item
It is located in the "Account Actions" section visible at the bottom of the menu. You'll see a list of all the people you've blocked.
Step 5. Unblock a user
Tap the icon in the shape of X located to the right of the name of the person you want to unblock.
Step 6. Press the Yes button when prompted
This way the selected user will be unblocked and will be able to contact you again on Snapchat and you will be able to contact them in turn.
Step 7. Add the user you unblocked to your Snapchat friends list
Depending on the privacy settings of the person you unblocked, you may need to add them back to your friends list (and they will need to do the same with you) in order to chat again.
- You can add new friends on Snapchat by searching for them by their username or by scanning their Snapcode.
- After deleting a user from your Snapchat friends list, you may have to wait up to 24 hours before you can add them again.
