Ginger has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In addition, its intense and spicy flavor makes it a much loved ingredient in the kitchen. It is thanks to these characteristics that it stimulates a good blood flow to the scalp, promoting hair growth. If you want to make a completely natural restructuring mask, you should definitely try this ginger-based treatment.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Prepare the Mask

Step 1. Prepare all the necessary ingredients and tools

Making a ginger mask is easy, the important thing is to have everything you need available. Here's what you'll need to make the simpler version of the mask:

  • Fresh ginger;
  • Coconut oil;
  • A vegetable peeler;
  • A bowl;
  • A grater;
  • A colander;
  • A spoon;
  • Cotton balls;
  • A shower cap or cling film.

Step 2. Peel and grate the ginger to extract its juice

To peel it, use a peeler, then discard the peels. Then, with the finer side of the grater, chop the ginger directly into the colander.

Place the bowl under the colander to catch the juice that flows as you grate the ginger

Step 3. Squeeze the ginger well

Press it into the bottom of the colander with the help of the spoon. Press it in several places, until most of the juice is extracted. Once you have enough, discard the pulp or use it in some other way.

Step 4. Add a generous dose of coconut oil

You should use more of it than ginger juice. Mix the two ingredients until you get a homogeneous solution.

  • Add two or three parts of coconut oil and one part of ginger juice. If you use more juice than oil, ginger may cause your scalp to tingle.
  • If the coconut oil has taken on a solid state, heat it in a small saucepan over a low heat to make it liquid again, but it shouldn't get hot.

Step 5. If you want, add more ingredients

Ginger and coconut oil make for an easy but effective hair mask. However, you can use other ingredients to enhance the effect. Here are some that promote hair growth and help make it healthier.

  • Green tea: can help stimulate hair growth. Add a cup of freshly brewed green tea to the mask.
  • Onion juice: It has been shown to promote hair growth for those with loss problems. Grate an onion and mix the juice with the other ingredients of the mask.
  • Garlic: This ingredient has also been shown to be effective in promoting hair growth. Peel and grate a couple of garlic cloves, then add them to the mask.

Part 2 of 2: Using the Mask

Step 1. Test a small amount of the mask on the skin

Before applying it, you should try it on a small part of the scalp or on the inside of the wrist. At this point, wait 30 minutes, then examine the affected area.

If you notice redness or irritation, do not apply the mask to the scalp. It is possible that you have an allergy or sensitivity to ginger

Step 2. Apply the mask to the entire scalp

If you did not find any problems with the test, soak a cotton ball in the mask and press it into your scalp. Proceed until you have applied it all over your head.

Step 3. After applying the mask, massage the scalp with your fingers for three minutes

Press your fingertips (not your nails) onto your scalp and massage it in small circular motions.

When the mask is on, do not scratch your scalp, otherwise you will get hurt. Scratching the skin where you applied the ginger mask will burn a lot

Step 4. After the massage is complete, put a shower cap, plastic bag or cling film on your hair

It should cover the scalp and hair in their entirety, otherwise the ginger and oil may drip onto the clothes while laying.

Step 5. Leave the ginger mask on for 20 minutes

Wait the necessary time for the active ingredients to penetrate well into the scalp. Set the timer and relax.

  • If you start to feel burning, itching, or irritation, rinse it off immediately.
  • Once the shutter speed is over, rinse your hair, shampoo and conditioner as usual.
