Pampering yourself at home is easy if you know how. Here are some suggestions that satisfy your need.
Steps
Step 1. Take a warm bath
Check the temperature to make sure it's not too hot. Add some rose or lavender oil to calm your mind and relax. You could also use some lavender-scented bubble bath. Dim the lights so that the atmosphere in the bathroom is more subdued or stay in candlelight.
Step 2. Play some relaxing music
In the shops you can find spa music or you could buy some relaxing songs on iTunes or even just go to YouTube. Play the music before you get into the tub. Then dive in and forget all your worries. Focus on your breathing so you can relax and feel calmer. Close your eyes if you want, but be careful not to fall asleep, as it could be dangerous.
Step 3. Exit when ready
When you feel completely relaxed and clean, get out of the bath and dry off with a large, soft towel.
Step 4. Apply a nice lotion to make the skin softer
Put some on your legs, arms, feet, elbows and hands.
Step 5. Get dressed
Once dry, put on a comfortable, fluffy pajama or nightgown. Choose the most comfortable or preferred solution, because you will have to stay relaxed.
Step 6. Refresh your mouth
Brush your teeth, floss, and mouthwash. Then take the sugar and add some water until you get a paste that you are going to rub on your lips in circular motions to exfoliate them. Apply a lip moisturizer.
Step 7. Make a nice hot drink
Try hot chocolate, herbal tea or even your favorite coffee. Whatever you have chosen, put it in a nice cup and sip it lying on the sofa or bed. If you are hungry, make a great and healthy snack of fruit, vegetables, crackers with cheese or yogurt. You can also treat yourself with a bowl of ice cream.
Step 8. Relax
While you drink, watch TV, watch a movie, or listen to soothing music lying on your bed. You could even read a book if you prefer. Watching a movie is a great idea. The best are the pink ones dedicated to women, romantic comedies or even simple comedies. One of my favorites is "About a Boy" and it's perfect in these circumstances. Don't watch horror, drama, mystery, or thriller movies, as they are by no means relaxing.
Step 9. If you don't want to watch TV, you can sit in the garden, terrace or window and enjoy the fresh air or views while sipping your hot drink
When you have finished drinking it, close your eyes and take a deep breath before you go to wash the dishes.
Step 10. Finish your day
When the movie, music, or TV show is over, turn off the TV or stereo. Get ready for bed. Wash your teeth, hair, etc. In the meantime, think about cheerful and relaxed things.
Step 11. Go to sleep
Turn off the lights in the bedroom and indulge in quiet thoughts until you fall asleep.
If it's not yet evening, take a nap, even if it's just a matter of regaining your strength. When you wake up, don't panic and take your time
