This article shows you how to find friends on Facebook either by simply searching for new people or by browsing the list of users who are already your friends. You can perform this procedure either by using the desktop version Facebook website or by using the mobile app. If you don't have a Facebook account, you need to create one now before reading further.
Steps
Part 1 of 5: Finding New Friends Using the Facebook Website
Step 1. Log in to the Facebook website
Paste the URL https://www.facebook.com into the address bar of the browser and press the "Enter" key. If you are already logged in with your Facebook account, the site's Home tab will be displayed.
If you are not logged in yet, enter your username and password using the text fields displayed at the top right of the page
Step 2. Click on the "Friend requests" icon
It features two stylized human silhouettes and is placed at the top right of the page. A drop-down menu will appear.
Step 3. Click on Find Friends
It is located in the upper right part of the appeared menu. A list of all the people you may know will be displayed.
Step 4. Review the results list
To add one of the people in the list to your Facebook friends list, click on the button add to friends on the right of the name. Alternatively, you can click on a person's profile to view additional information if their security and privacy settings allow it.
You can filter the list of search results based on different options on the right side of the page, for example based on your place of residence
Part 2 of 5: Finding New Friends on Mobile Device
Step 1. Launch the Facebook app
Touch the corresponding icon characterized by the letter "f" in white on a dark blue background. If you are already logged in with your Facebook account, the Home tab of the profile will be displayed.
If you are not logged in yet, provide your username and password using the text fields displayed on the screen
Step 2. Tap the ☰ button
It's located in the lower right corner of the screen (on iPhone) or at the top (on Android). The main menu of the application will be displayed.
Step 3. Tap Friends
It is visible at the top of the appeared menu.
If you are using an Android device, you will need to select the item Find friends.
Step 4. Tap the Suggested option
This tab is located in the upper left corner of the screen. A list of people you may know will be displayed.
Step 5. Review the results list
To add one of the people on the list to your Facebook friends list, press the button add to friends on the right of the name. Alternatively, you can log into their profile to be able to view additional information if their security and privacy settings allow it.
Part 3 of 5: Viewing the Friends List in the Desktop Version
Step 1. Log in to the Facebook website
Paste the URL https://www.facebook.com into the address bar of the browser and press the "Enter" key. If you are already logged in with your Facebook account, the site's Home tab will be displayed.
If you are not logged in yet, enter your username and password using the text fields displayed at the top right of the page
Step 2. Click on the tab with your name
It is displayed at the top right of the page. Your Facebook profile screen will appear.
Step 3. Click on the Friends tab
It is one of the options displayed under your profile cover image. The complete list of all your Facebook friends will be shown.
Step 4. Review the results list
Scroll the list that appears on the page or perform a specific search using the name of the person you are looking for by typing it in the text field located on the right of the "Friends" box.
Part 4 of 5: Viewing the Friends List on Mobile
Step 1. Launch the Facebook app

Step 2. Tap the ☰ button

Step 3. Tap Friends
It is visible at the top of the appeared menu.
Step 4. Review the results list
Scroll through the list that appears on the screen or perform a specific search using the name of the person you are looking for by typing it into the search bar at the top of the page.
Part 5 of 5: Search for a Specific Person
Step 1. Log in to the Facebook website in desktop version or launch the mobile app
Paste the URL https://www.facebook.com into the address bar of the browser and press the "Enter" key or tap the corresponding icon characterized by the white letter "f" placed on a dark blue background. If you are already logged in with your Facebook account, the Home tab of the profile will be displayed.
If you are not logged in yet, provide your username and password using the text fields displayed on the screen
Step 2. Select the search bar
It is the text field displayed at the top of the Facebook page.
Step 3. Type the name of the person you want to search for on the Facebook platform
Step 4. Select the name of the person you are looking for
Click or tap on the name of the user you searched for and appeared in the results list displayed below the search bar.
Step 5. Select the People tab
It is displayed at the top of the page (if you are using the website) or in the upper left corner of the screen (if you are using a mobile device).
Step 6. Review the search result
You will see a list of Facebook profiles that meet the search criteria you have carried out, in which the person of your interest should also be present. If you can find the user you are looking for, select the corresponding profile picture to access their account and be able to add them to your friends.
