Paper dyed with coffee can be useful when you want to try to give an ancient air to a school project or if you want to have extravagant-looking stationery items. There are several ways to make this type of card, depending on what you have available.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Dab the paper
Step 1. Take a spoonful of coffee and place it in the center of a paper towel
Step 2. Make a paper bag by lifting all sides of the napkin so that the side with the coffee hangs under your fist
Make sure you squeeze the paper tightly so there are no gaps.
Step 3. Using water, wet the part of the paper towel in which the coffee is contained
You can simply put it under running water.
Step 4. Squeeze the end of the napkin that contains the coffee until all excess water is removed
That part of the paper should turn light brown. If not, press it firmly against the palm of your hand.
Step 5. Take the coffee-filled portion of the napkin and use it to briefly but firmly dab a sheet of paper
Light brown markings should appear on the surface. If not, press the coffee bag for 4 seconds instead of blotting briefly.
Step 6. Repeat this process as desired
Step 7. If possible, place the stained paper in front of an open window with the screen to dry quickly, or place it on a flat surface
It will take about 5-10 minutes to dry.
Method 2 of 2: Bake the Paper in the Oven
Step 1. Make a coffee maker or make about five cups of instant coffee
Step 2. Pour the coffee into a large tray
Step 3. Dip a sheet of paper in the coffee
Step 4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the coffee-soaked sheet on top
Place the pan in the oven. Heat for about 5 minutes at 50 ° C to dry.
Step 5. Remove the pan from the oven
The sheet of paper will look old and stained.
Advice
- Make sure the paper towel isn't too thin. It must be strong enough to hold wet, condensed coffee. Scottex is a good brand.
- Unwanted water stains have no effect, because they dry quickly!
- If you can't dye the paper, put the coffee bag in a solution of water and vanilla, then squeeze out the excess liquid and try again.
Warnings
- Remember! Do not leave open spaces for coffee to come out of or you will dirty everything!
- Watch out for tears in the paper towel you are using, they could form without your knowledge and the coffee would run.
