Step 1. Visit www.greendotonline.com to check your online balance
On the left under "account log-in" enter your user ID and click on the log in button to proceed to the information. If you don't have an ID yet, click on the link to create one, "Create Online User Id". After that you will need to enter your personal information to create your account and check your balance. Call Green Dot customer service to check your balance by phone.
Call 1-866-795-7597 and enter your account information when prompted. Keep following the instructions until you have the option to check your balance. This method is free.
Receive balance alerts via email or mobile. Log in to your Green Dot account by visiting www.greendotonline.com, enter your user ID and click on the "Log-in" button. When you see the details screen, click "Account alerts" to manage the alert policy. You can set up alerts that show your balance every day, week or month by email (you can set up to two emails) or by receiving a message on your mobile.
Send a message to Green Dot Mobile to find out the balance. Log in to your Green Dot account by visiting www.greendotonline.com, enter your user ID and click on the "Log-in" button. When you see the details screen, click "Green Dot Mobile" to register your mobile number. Once you've done that, send a message to number 43411 with the letters "Bal", followed by a space and the last 4 digits of your Green Dot card number. The Greendot Card Mobile system will reply to you via a message containing your balance information.
