When selling on eBay, you may want to cancel a listing. You can cancel a fixed price offer at any time, while you can cancel auctions if you have made a mistake or if the item for sale is broken or lost. Ebay strongly advises against canceling a listing early and may impose restrictions on your account if you do so often; you may even have to pay a penalty. Advice
- Check all auction details, make sure items are working and available before listing them on eBay. This way you will rarely have to resort to canceling an auction.
- Explain the situation in detail to users who placed bids before removing a listing. In many cases, they will be able to withdraw them and will be less likely to leave negative feedback about you if you let them know in advance.
